For the last 2 or 3 weeks I've been getting nosebleeds every day. Please help, possible causes, possible solutions?

You may need to have a small capillary or two cauterized. See a doctor.

Yeah get the thing where they shoot lasers into your nose (I'm a master of medical terminology as you see).

See a doctor. Are you taking anything that thins your blood (such as aspirin)?

Yeah. My little bro had this. What he said.

Though in my brothers case, he was given some ointment to try first, so if your case isn't that bad, you might not even have to deal with the cauterizing. (Either way it's not big deal).

But you really have to go see a doctor and get your blood pressure checked out and stuff, in case you nosebleeds are being caused by massive bp.

you need to go to the dr. they will pack your nose (not as uncomfortable as it sounds) and may need to cauterize (sp?) something in there.

I get nosebleeds when I am too hot, so when my nose bleeds I get a cold rag for it, and one for the back of my neck, my kids also get nose bleeds when they are too hot.

anyway, go to the doctor.

you haven't been huffing or using drugs right? because those can cause nose bleeds that are pretty frequent too.

i think we established this with the other poster who consulted NS General on coughing up blood before a doctor.

hint: NS =/= medical training

The best, and probably most boring avenue is to seek medical attention.

If you want to be more creative, however, take a steel rod, heat it in a fire until it's glowing red hot and then stick it into your nose. Self-cauterization. This might sting a bit. Once the steam begins to dissipate, remove the rod gingerly. It might stick a bit on the cooked flesh. Just twist gently as you remove it. Then heat it again and do the other nostril. I guarantee that you won't have to worry about nose bleeds ever again. :)

Just make sure you stop snorting coke, and give it a week or two to get it out of your system first.

I've been known to get nosebleeds just from being in too dry of an environment. Talk to your doctor about if it would help to get a humidifier in your bedroom or something.

For the last 2 or 3 weeks I've been getting nosebleeds every day. Please help, possible causes, possible solutions? As a reference point, I've always been a sufferer of nosebleeds[1].

When young I went into hospital for cauterising. General anaesthetic, several days in a ward "Nil By Mouth" stuff, etc. Didn't seem to work.

When older, I had an episode when it would not stop by the usual method (cold compress to the bridge) and I went into A&E. There I had the experience (not unpleasant at all, though my following graphic description might sound otherwise) of additional cautarising under local anaesthetic. It was partial (they didn't want to 'burn holes in me' by overuse) and I can't remember the technical details (silver nitride/nitrite sticks? Something that heats up in contact with moisture, anyway) but I do remember the not-as-horrid-as-you-might-think smell of burning flesh. My burning flesh. No, honestly, it was an interesting smell, given my ether-numbed nose (or whatever they stuffed on the cotton-wool) couldn't feel anything and yet I was otherwise fully aware of everything going on

Since then, I've had a few episodes, but it seems to have worked. I've also considered the possibility that it has become a psychosomatic response (along the lines of Stigmata) as (except for the past few years, when even these episodes have subsided) I tended to get a 'flood' of nosebleeds in the week ahead of receiving the reminder letter from the National Blood Service telling me I was due to donate again... And though I know that the loss of the pint-or-so donation shouldn't cause any significant physiological differences (beyond the first few days) it's surprising how the bleeds abate and stay abated...

F.Y. I., I don't have 'high blood pressure', or any significant problems along those lines, I'm male (thus no pronounced monthly cycles that might mean anything) and take little, if anym medication. (Can't remember the last time I had so much as an aspirin, nor anything stronger since an appendectomy several years ago.)

So... Causes, I wouldn't know. Picking of the nose might be something that didn't help when young, but doesn't seem to correlate much to what suffering I've had since I started growing up...
Solutions? Well, an out-patient visit seemed to do me well, though maybe I was just on the crux of 'growing out of it', coincidently... I couldn't possibly generalise for your case, though, so your GP should be the first line of support. But if you can better explain your problem through comparison to my (and other sufferers) experiences, it might help them help you better...

[1] So much so that I was often having to correct first-aiders who came to my asistance - you do not lean your head back, as that lets the blood into the stomach (where it plays merry-hell with your constitution) or, worse, lungs (well, I don't have to tell you how that can be bad, luckily it never happened to me), but then I've always been a great believer of letting it drip out into the sink (when lucky-enough to do that) while cold-compressing the bridge, etc, etc...
