I just received an amazon email. It goes like this:
Dear Amazon.com Customer,
As someone who has purchased books by Alan Moore, you might like to know that The Encyclopedia of Commodity and Financial Spreads (Wiley Trading) is now available . You can order your copy at a savings of 37% by following the link below.
Now for those of you who don't know, Alan Moore is a comic writing genius, who has written 'From Hell', 'Watchmen', 'League of extraordinary gentlemen', 'Top Ten' and 'Swamp Thing' among others.
So how the hell does amazon connect a quirky imaginative comic-book writer to commodity and financial spreads?
The only thing I can think of is that one of Moore's best titles is 'From Hell', and quite frankly the thought of reading said encyclopedia would constitute hell for me.
Weird.

You should try convincing it that your gay. I will never understand why, but everytime a computer system sees my name, it decides it must question my sexuality.
No, iTunes, I don't want buy 2001 Gay Anthems. No, Amazon, I'd rather not have Playgirl's Firemen of the Year. No, I don't want to become a regular subscriber either.

Hmmm. Exceedingly strange. Perhaps they are trying to strike a balance between fun and finance. ;)

Oh, I dunno, I always felt an unfulfilled urge to read up on Commodity spreads after reading Alan Moore/watching the League of Gentlemen. Now I know where to go...
It's worse when they sell you a game, then try and sell you the sodding strategy guide days later. Half the time I haven't even got the game delivered yet, let alone got stuck enough to shell £20 for a guide i can get for free anyway. [/Rant]

Well at least it's not like the glitch in the Walmart computer that kept suggesting "Planet of the Apes" to anyone who bought black themed books or DVDs.

Ah, Wal-Mart, is there anything they won't do to piss people off?
