Spreading the Love.

She said the world is bitter, I said she's one of the sweet spots.

From what I've read in here lately, we're letting the fun out of life. It's not our faults entirely, of course, with beloved childrens' book authors being murdered, childhood heroes being suspected of crimes, and a world tearing itself apart over political cartoons. Some are just giving in, I see. I can think practically and I can rationalise, but for the life of me I can't figure out where we are when love is called an illusion. It might just be chemical in origin, and reproductive in purpose, but it's there and some days it's all we've got.

I hope the Olympics turn out alright and a little brotherhood happens out there in Torino. I hope people can have a nice Valentine's day, or if you prefer, a nice arbitrary commercialised love day, or a nice plain old February 14th. I also hope that some of us can fight the bitterness with all those cliches that keep he world from going mad, like spontaneous smiles or a bouquet of Birds of Paradise.

Just trying to spread the love.

Love is seen as an illusion mostly by people who have just been dumped or by those who have been in several bad relationships. You agree?
What one person's idea of reality, could be illusion to another. It's entirely relative. lol, but I guess I don't really deserve a say in this, my friends do call me the Anti-Cupid after all.

Love is a decision. Every living thing makes decisions. Thus love is part of the shared reality of all living things. You agree? :)

I'd say that no living thing is complete without a little love. Not necessarily love as we know it, either. Love can be sunlight or water or a snuggle or a struggle or outer space.

Just trying to spread the love.
And now, for the obligatory NS Rebuttal:
I hate you all.

Perhaps Australia might actually win the speed skating without someone helping them along the way.:p

Yes I agree, but I also think that love is not love unless both people feel for each other the same way.
They must see each other as their light. But they must also realize that the closer they get to the light, the darker and larger their shadow becomes.
But I think that two lights can help each other banish a shadow. :D

Much better!
If I adored everyone, then my adoration would be meaningless as a qualifier. To imply that I am so soft demeans any true value that those fleeting positive emotions I have possess.
How about we split the difference and settle for a general feeling of apathy directed at the majority?

He may not, but I can assure you that I do.

Nah, I've never been in a relationship, or been dumped.. my record is 0 wins, 0 losses, 0 ties.. and, while I don't see love as an illusion, I certainly think it's quite useless to apply it to human beings.. ideas, sure, but not people..

Love is at least a happy productive illusion if it is one.

It does tend to lead to the production of human offspring, doesn't it.. dunno if that's what he meant, but..

In that case, love has the same “positive” effects as alcohol.

Yeah, they probably play on similar sectors of the brain..

Having never been in a relationship, or at least a loving one greatly distorts you view of love. Once you have experienced it then you can speak your opinion, those who say it doesn't exist simply haven't found it yet.

Actually love is an emotion and everyone makes decisions based on their emotions. :D
