I think I need a hug...

Honestly.

It's not been the best week, I got to hear a lot of stuff I had rather not heard, I completely stressed out over some of them, I was on the verge of losing my best friend, and although things did turn out sort of ok in the end, I'm feeling a bit down right now... very low on energy.
All I would like now is a hot bath, a cup of tea, and a hug....

No...well, i doubt it.

Not in my japanese dictionary either, unless "tai" is meant to be a prefix, but I don't know what "yakai" would mean and i'm not sure how it would make sense even if I did.

Relationships are among the most difficult things we will ever do. Over the years I have developed a philosophy which says: I am who I am. If you like me, fine. If you don't like me, you don't have to hang around with me. This approach can sometimes drive a few overly-sensitive types away, but it also insures that "friends" are truly friends, not fair-weather types.

A Friend sent me this a few weeks ago, made me smile:

Have things gotcha down? Are ya havin' a bad day???????

Consider this...................................................

In a hospital's Intensive Care ward, patients always died in the same
bed, on Sunday morning, at about 11am, regardless of their medical
condition.

This puzzled the doctors and some even thought it had something to
do with the supernatural. No one could solve the mystery as to why the
deaths occurred around 11 am on Sunday, so a worldwide team of experts
was assembled to investigate the cause of the incidents. The next Sunday
morning, a few minutes before 11am, all doctors and nurses nervously
waited outside the ward to see for themselves what the terrible
phenomenon was all about. Some were holding wooden crosses, prayer
books and other holy objects to ward off the evil spirits.
Just when the clock struck 11, Pookie Johnson, the part-time Sunday
sweeper, entered the ward and unplugged the life support system so
he could use the vacuum cleaner.

Having a Bad Day?

The average cost of rehabilitating a seal after the Exxon Valdez Oil
spill in Alaska was $80,000 At a special ceremony, two of the most
expensively saved animals were being released back into the wild amid
cheers and applause from onlookers.

A minute later, in full view, a killer whale ate them both.

Still think you are having a bad day?

A woman came home to find her husband in the kitchen shaking
frantically, almost in a dancing frenzy, with some kind of wire running
from his waist towards the electric kettle. Intending to jolt him away
from the deadly current, she whacked him with a handy plank of wood,
breaking his arm in two places. Up to that moment, he had been happily
listening to his Walkman.

STILL think you're having a bad day?

Two animal rights defenders were protesting the cruelty of sending

pigs to a slaughterhouse in Bonn, Germany. Suddenly, all two thousand pigs
broke loose and escaped through a broken fence, stampeding madly.

The two hopeless protesters were trampled to death.

What? STILL having a bad day?

Iraqi terrorist Khay Rahnajet didn't pay enough postage on a letter
bomb. It came back with "return to sender" stamped on it.
Forgetting it was the bomb, he opened it and was blown to bits.

There now, feeling better

want one baised off of a real event?

where I work, several floors kept loosing their Network connection. I mean just Poof and they were kicked off. while troubleshooting the problem, It was noticed that the router was shut down... it was turned back on and when it happened for several days, we had the electrical wires checked, the router was swapped out and the problem kept occuring.

one day, I was hooking up a pc and went into our communication closet to connect the pc to our routers. went back and the pc wouldn't connect up. so I went back and noticed that all of the routers were turned off?

Puzzled, I turned the routers back on and went back to check the pc... it was ok, then poof, again the network disconnected. So I again went back to the routers and noticed that they were turned off... again. only this time, there were some paint cans placed behind the rack.

so I turned the routers on and waited. Sure enough, a construction worker (remodeling a section of the building) came in and dropped of more cans of paint... and his shoulder brushed the power switch for the whole rack... tripping the safety switch that powers the other routers to shut down (to protect them from power surges) and his shoulder would then turn the power back onto the rack, but the routers, being shut down, they didn't power back on.

After I explained to the worker what was happening and showed them an alternate storage area, the network problem "mysteriously" vanished. ;)

I volunteer at our state fair, and this was heard over the radio one night...

"We have a missing one child. Last seen him in the tiger's cage"
we all stopped what we were doing and our shift supervisor picked up his radio
"Please Repeat - IN the tiger's cage? - over"
Brief silence then the employee came back on... stiffling a chuckle..
"Correction... near the tiger's cage. over"

Same night the radio crackled again.
"We have a lost child. 2yrs old. 67 inches..."
again we stopped what we were doing...
"Confirm height of child... did you say 67 inches?"
"Yep"
"A 2 year old that's over 5 ft tall?"
"that's the discription the parents gave me."

Fortunately both children were found. (one was outside the fair waiting for his parents and amusing himself by playing with the porta potties....)

What was that thing I read some time ago on stress management? Oh yes...

I want you to imagine your are in a happy place. It is calm and peaceful. There is a beautiful still pond here, with a happily burbling brook and a small waterfall. The air is warm to the skin, not to hot or cold. The trees are full of green leaves and birds that fill the air with sweet, sweet song. The flowers are in full bloom and the bees are busy buzzing.

Think of this calm, wonderful place and feel all the stress leave you.

Look now into that calm pond. Gaze into the crystal clear water. See the small fish that live in that pond, how they dart and dash. See the beautiful rocks that line the bottom of the pond.

See the face of the person who caused you stress in the first place as you hold them under water.

Now, let them up for a quick gasp of air, then, PLOP! back down they go.

See? Don't you feel better now? ;)

Those kid's stories are great. I always loved those air traffic quotes :

Tower: "Delta 351, you have traffic at 10 o'clock, 6 miles!" Delta 351: "Give us another hint! We have digital watches!"

From an unknown aircraft waiting in a very long takeoff queue: "I'm f...ing bored!" Ground Traffic Control: "Last aircraft transmitting, identify yourself immediately!" Unknown aircraft: "I said I was f...ing bored, not f...ing stupid!"

Allegedly, a Pan Am 727 flight waiting for start clearance in Munich overheard the following: Lufthansa (in German): "Ground, what is our start clearance time?" Ground (in English): "If you want an answer you must speak in English." Lufthansa (in English): "I am a German, flying a German airplane, in Germany. Why must I speak English?" Unknown voice from another plane (in a beautiful British accent): "Because you lost the bloody war."

Tower: "Eastern 702, cleared for takeoff, contact Departure on frequency 124.7" Eastern 702: "Tower, Eastern 702 switching to Departure. By the way, after we lifted off we saw some kind of dead animal on the far end of the runway." Tower: "Continental 635, cleared for takeoff behind Eastern 702, contact Departure on frequency 124.7. Did you copy that report from Eastern 702?" Continental 635: "Continental 635, cleared for takeoff, roger; and yes, we copied Eastern... we've already notified our caterers."

Allegedly, while taxiing at London's Gatwick Airport, the crew of a US Air flight departing for Ft. Lauderdale made a wrong turn and came nose to nose with a United 727. An irate female ground controller lashed out at the US Air crew, screaming: "US Air 2771, where the hell are you going?! I told you to turn right onto Charlie taxiway! You turned right on Delta! Stop right there. I know it's difficult for you to tell the difference between C and D, but get it right!" Continuing her rage to the embarrassed crew, she was now shouting hysterically: "God! Now you've screwed everything up! It'll take forever to sort this out! You stay right there and don't move till I tell you to! You can expect progressive taxi instructions in about half an hour and I want you to go exactly where I tell you, when I tell you, and how I tell you! You got that, US Air 2771?" US Air 2771: "Yes, ma'am," the humbled crew responded. Naturally, the ground control communications frequency fell terribly silent after the verbal bashing of US Air 2771. Nobody wanted to chance engaging the irate ground controller in her current state of mind. Tension in every cockpit out around Gatwick was definitely running high. Just then an unknown pilot broke the silence and keyed his microphone, asking: "Wasn't I married to you once?"

I'm too far away to give a hug, but I'm feeling down I like to say this:

Create in me a pure heart, O my God, and renew a tranquil conscience within me, O my Hope! Through the spirit of power confirm Thou me in Thy Cause, O my Best-Beloved, and by the light of Thy glory reveal unto me Thy path, O Thou the Goal of my desire! Through the power of Thy transcendent might lift me up unto the heaven of Thy holiness, O Source of my being, and by the breezes of Thine eternity gladden me, O Thou Who art my God! Let Thine everlasting melodies breathe tranquillity on me, O my Companion, and let the riches of Thine ancient countenance deliver me from all except Thee, O my Master, and let the tidings of the revelation of Thine incorruptible Essence bring me joy, O Thou Who art the most manifest of the manifest and the most hidden of the hidden! *249*

Wasabi ice cream? Garlic? That's.... scary. I mean, judging from the colour, you might mistake it for mint or pistaccio...
Once I had a very mean Japanese friend who, after inviting a number of us out for sushi attempted to pass of a bowl of wasabi that she had collected as green tea ice cream.

So, yes, I understand your objections. :)

My daughter teaches kindergarden at a Somalia Charter school in St. Paul. She has a student who is most difficult at times. She is so bad that her father comes in and says to my daughter that if the student get out of hand to call him on his cell phone and gives my daughter the number. As expected the student gets way out of hand. My daughter begins to act like she is calling the father. The student begins to scream "No,don't call my dad. Please don't call. They're gonna sell me to white people." My daughter says, "Don't worry honey, no one will buy you". :p

I had a similar experience in Canada. I went to a corner shop because I wanted something sweet, some chocolate... I took a long look at the display... and left without buying any. "Trolling" is a term that is used to describe someone who types stuff into a thread, and the stuff that they say in the thread doesn't belong with the conversation and is considered "spam". Trolling is also illegal by the rules that the Administration of this site has put into place.

Like so many other people have stated, read the rules provided in the One Stop Rules Shop (OSRS). They are your binding agreement that you signed when you created your nation on this game.

Link to the One Stop Rules Shop --> http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=416023

Trolling: Posts that are made with the aim of angering people. (like 'ALL JEWS ARE [insert vile comment here]' for example). While Trolls often make these posts strictly in an attempt to provoke negative comment, it is still trolling even if you actually hold those beliefs. Intent is difficult to prove over the internet, so mods will work under their best assumptions.

Note that posts of opinions you disagree with does not automatically equate with trolling. Disagreements are expected, as long as they are done in a civil manner. Max Barry has made it clear that he welcomes all opinions in civil debate, even those that are highly unpopular or minority-held. Make your case without the invective, if you want to avoid banishment as a Troll.

Trolling is also is used to refer to making obviously silly topics that people nonetheless will reply to, despite all common sense. Don't feed the trolls.

In Europe, people like the odd peanut butter sandwich, and use peanut butter than in cooking - like thai peanut sauce, or Malaysian satay or something like that. People NEVER consider it when they think of fruit or veggies, maybe bananas for the adventurous types, possibly crackers too. But never icecream or candy bars.

We just thought it was funny when we came over here and EVERYONE seemed to eat peanut butter in some way, shape or form. I think that statement came from her own observations of Americans. I just think it's funny!!
