HK G36 without a second thought. Lightweight, rarely jams, etc.

i dont need no stinken poll...an ak-47..it is indestructable...well..i recant,if i could have my h/k 93 in .223 back..maybe..maybe
i like the 7.62x39 round..aint as heavy as 7.62 nato...but hits harder then .223 or 5.56
also,you need to specify whether it is urban or jungle or wide open.
thats why i own different weapons.:sniper:
also,what type of combat...gurilla(sp)massed infantry or what..hell if i was in hit and run..shoot..i'll take my .270 bolt action and pop and run

How about we say that it's for the same situations that militaries choose their issue rifles: They don't know against whom they will be used and they don't know what environment in which they will have to be deployed.

Well, in that case I would have to go with any type of Kalashnikov. But I already voted for the G36 but oh well.

fair enough..ak-47 then..i know it's old school...but tons of ammo available,kill a bad guy..get a replacement mag/ammo/part.....did i mention indestructable...and mine is perty dern accurate out to 200 meters,at least on man size targets.
I piked the ak-74m due to the whole line of AK weapons being very reliable and tough, id have perferred the 47, as I perfer its stopping power, but they are all good, after that, the g3, cant argue with a big, bad piece of lead. (im not concerned about recoil as im an expiernced shooter and dont find it much of a bother, so id rather the punch of bigger bulletsP

Do you mean the AKM? Cuz the AK-47 had the shortest production run out of any of the Kalashnikov rifles. And neither of them are standard issue for any nation that gets put on the "Second Best Nation" list. :p

I picked the Sa80 because it is such a lousy piece of crap, that anyone who sees me with it will double over laughing. Then I can hit them over the head with it while they are incapacitated with laughing pains, and take their weapon.

No, see, I use the Sa80 to disarm all my opponents. I never need to fire a shot! I just pick up their weapons so I can sell them for Gummy Bears.

I would go for a Heckler und Koch PSG-1 i earned my markmanship-certificate with that one!.. I we where talking assault rifles, i would go for a FAL-type made by FN..

FAL isn't current issue. :p It's been replaced variously by the FN F2000, the G36, and the L85A1.

Actually, I think the Brazilian IMBEL LAR is still in production, and it's a FAL model if I'm not mistaken. But that's probably the only place you'll find it.

Agreed. I actually have one! I let my father-in-law use it for re-enactment purposes, but the m14 is one hell of a rifle.
Mine actually comes to me from my grandfather, who was a preservationist (is that a word?) and gave me all his stuff in his will.
