Why the hell am I watching the Russian News?

I usually have the TV on when I compute, just to provide a little background noise. Currently, I have it tuned to the campus international channel. And it has Russian news on. In Russian. And I can't turn it off. It's weird. I don't understand a word of it, but it has me in it's iron grasp.

Do Russians put some sort of mind control in their broadcasts?

Perhaps. But if there's any propoganda, it has to be in their national anthem. Now that, is something worth dying for.

TV is intoxicating. It's like whenever my brother's home from college and yells at me for switching the channel even when it's a commercial that we've seen a billion times (warning: exaggeration). It just sucks you in.

I bet when you first heard it you were like "is that even a language? " :p

I knew what it was. I'm pretty good at recognizing languages. Speaking them, on the other hand, leaves something to be desired.

I only know how to say "Good-bye" and "How?" in Russian. So I'm pretty much screwed if I ever somehow get abandoned there alone.

Same here, although I am quite good at speaking them too. Its just funny though when you hear a totally unrecognisable language, and you're like "what the hell?" "

Vy menya panimayete?

You know, Russian is a beautiful spoken language. Especially when its one of those young Russian women doing the talking.

Some of them can be incredibly seductive without you even knowing a word of the language.

I don't know. I'm kind of afraid.
