I worked at an ice cream shop in the summer. I got sick of ice cream VERY fast, but I would have to go with Turtle as my favorite.

Coffee!

Either Lychee or Mango.

Although I chose Butter Pecan on the poll- my real favorite is Chunky Monkey.

I was at this place in Hollywood that had rose water ice cream and I had a scoop of that with their green tea ice cream and it was marvelous too.

but right now, my favorite pint of ice cream is Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie

Nope, but last week a radio program that I sometimes listen to mentioned creating new ice cream flavors and rat anus with glass was a suggestion. I just didn't feel like mentioning rat anus until just now.

I know! Freakin awesome! I totally ate an entire pint of it last night, though. Stupid college parties......you'd think, after the burn-out I suffered after high school, I would've learned to only eat large quantities of ice cream while sober. :(

Vanilla is officially my favorite flavor, but I usually get chocolate Haggen-Dasz(sp?) or Ben and Jerry's.

Moose Tracks. Vanilla ice cream with big chocolate chunks, mini Reese's cups, and chocolate fudge swirls. It's like a little taste of oblivian.

Haagen Dasz makes the absolute best ice creams out there. Its toffee flavoured ones are divine. :eek:

coffee/cappucino/espresso- any with a strong coffee flavor, prefferably with ground coffee beans in it.

Aside from that, I dont like ice cream much.

I will have a "Kohr's orange & vanilla twist" cone when on the boardwalk. It reminds me of being a kid 30 yrs ago at the shore.

reminds me of George Carlin-describing his friend loading a plate with food at a buffet or something-and asking him what it is- he says he doesnt know, but its free. Then George Carlin says- "Its rat's asshole, Gus".

I probably mangled that one, but thats how I remember it.

would you mind comparing/contrasting gelato with a high-quality ice cream like Graters (sp?), Haagen Dasz or Ben & Jerry's?

No comparison. High-quality ice cream is certainly wonderful, but gelato is divine. I hope when I die, if I go to Heaven, it's nothing but a gelato-rama and indie movies.

is gelato lighter? smoother? more dense? (etc.)

Vanilla (with bean flecks)
Butter pecan
Strawberry (must have chunks)

Baskin Robbin's Chocolate Peanut Butter flavor.

Plain ol' chocolate.

As well as most flavours involving chocolate.

Also maple gets an honourable mention. Everything tastes better maple.

anyone ever had blue moon ice cream?

it's sort of a turquoise blue color, and i can't think of how to describe the flavor, but it's good.

if you're ever in Madison, Wisconsin, go to Ella's Deli... they have blue moon ice cream.
