I was wondering: when was the last time anyone here actually bought music as opposed to acquiring it from some other source? this includes online stores like iTunes. I'm just curious. :p

I usually got to the store buy a CD, rip it, copy it then take it back and get a new one but if one seems special I'll keep it.

Well I can happily (and smugly) state that I bought 9 CDs last week. I'M at least supporting our starving, struggling musician brothers to bring a little joy and happiness to our dreary world.

Though this brings the total number of CDs I've bought in the last 18 months to 11. Yet I've got 20 gigs of music on my HDD, most of which I don't have the CD for. How can that be?

About a month - a handful of second hand LPs from the charity shop: Simon & Garfunkel's first LP, one by the pedal steel session player Lloyd Green and a copy of the soundtrack from the original 1970 film I Walk The Line (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065874/). A large amount of my vinyl buying is determined by what I happen to come across in charity shops.

Roughly a month. Forked out for an album... then toured the shop, and found a live DVD of it for the SAME PRICE. Augh! I'm not actually bothered though, cause it probably wouldn't have worked in my CD player, what with it being a DVD and all.

I bought the new live album by Rhapsody the other day.
Generally speaking i buy about an album a month depending on new releases and any bands i come across that i fancy trying.

How can you get away with that? I thought that once you opened a CD, you could only exchange it for another copy of the same CD.

Dead Yuppies. It's crap. Well, not as good as I expected...only cost me £3 though so I possibly got my money's worth.

Yeah. Certainly not their best. I got given my copy free by the band, and even then was disappointed. Best sticking to Victim In Pain and Liberty And Justice.

Obviously, your house must have music gnomes, because you certainly wouldn't do anything naughty. Noo . . .

Anyway, I haven't bought a CD in years, I prefer to use iTunes so I don't have to buy 9 crap songs to get the one good song that a band produced (ie, the last song I bought was "Paint it Black" by the Rolling Stones. I hate everything else they've ever done with a burning passion)
