The AIDs/HIVs virus could just mutate and find a way around this.

Diseases which were common in the past have being completely or almost completely wiped out in the western world nowadays, such as small pox, TB and polio - diseases which used to be common. So it's perfectly possible that AIDs can be wiped out too. Hopefully it's not just another 'breakthrough' that leads nowhere.

The article stated that the compound has killed every type of virus they've tested it on...which is a very good sign.

Here's hoping! :)

How aweful. It will do nothing but give the signal to our precious little children that it is ok to to be sexually immoral.

Will No One Think Of The Children!?™

On a more serious note though, this is good news and I hope that the research succeeds in its aims. I also hope the resulting medication will be cheap enough so that it can be used to the spread of the virus in Africa (amoung other places).e

With nice things like SARS and Bird flu around, it's good we are making some progress.
