Bring Back Seaquest

Since it appears I might be suspended due to conflict with OceanDrive3, I want to start one last post.

I believe we in the NationStates forums should demand that Seaquest return to TV! Due to high dvd sales it only seems right. By return I do not mean re-runs, I mean new shows.

Who is with me?

I'm not quite following... "Seaquest"?

Go to Google or IMDB, uneducated one.

Eh, it's not my fault I live in a country that adores shit like The OC, and leaves brilliance like that of Blackadder in the gutter. The fact is, I've never heard of this show, and that's that.

Seaquest was an American show though...

Maybe before his time...I was pretty young when it was on TV.

Yeah, which brings even more questions as to why I've never heard of it before.

Nah, I watched TV all the time in the early 90's. I was big on Seinfeld and Frasier. Of course, I didn't have cable then...

Well watch the 1st Season, watch the 2nd but think of it as a different show, same for the 3rd (Although I thought it was pretty good, most seem to disagree).

It was only around for two or three seasons, wasn't?

It started out good IIRC, but got pretty silly towards the end, like traveling back in time or going into outer space.

I doubt it'll be brought back, even for a mini-series; most of the actors have aged noticeably and are probably involved in other stuff.

It was on free-to-air over here.

Meh, after checking out the info, my time would be better invested in Seven Days, which I actually caught back when it was on.

I see. I must've just missed it completely, then. :p

Yeah, it did. The first series was the best, but I still liked all of it. I wouldn't expect them to use the same actors, but they could do another series set in the same universe.

That was a good show. It has the black guy from SeaQuest in it too. How's that for coincidence? :p

That episode with the "little munchkin bastard" was my favorite. I love watching deformed midgets getting thrown out of tiny orbs in outer space (no offense to any deformed midgets who may be reading this).

No reason why they couldn't, Star Trek does it all the time.

I think I remember that one. Not too sure though.

The only problem with the show is that it really doesn't make sense. When he goes back in time, what happens to his former self? Shouldn't he be there too? What about the other people in the base? How can they remember him?

Yep, exactly. :)

They could do cameos by the old actors too. :D

Hmm, I wonder if Darwin is still alive.

Except one of the actors hanged themselves....

Not Darwin though.

Yeah, his former self not being in the past was kind of thin, but remember their system for the backstep? Each time one was performed, they would receive a phone call from him to let them know about it.

Not exactly perfect, but it did the job.
