To any muslims on this board...Keruvalia I'm mainly talking to you as you seem to be the unofficial NS General muslim spokesperson 'round these parts, I was just wondering, why are the muslims reacting against the Jews, who had nothing to do with the whole Danish newspaper thing....why are they not making fun of Danes?

It's not 'muslims', it's 'some muslims'. Albeit it a significant and vocal minority. The vast majority of the billion muslims around the world seem pretty apathetic about the whole thing. I bought gas from one today, and he didn't seem phazed by the mohammed desecration at all. We even had a little chat about the weather and the damn russian kids from the consulate building.

Anyway, the reason for it is that they hate jews; almost as much as they hate women. Further, they know that if they publish cartoons about danes, the danes will probably laugh at them, say something like 'good point', or 'haha so witty' or some shit. (If you don't believe me, go on, burn a danish flag and see what happens).

Some jews (not all) on the other hand, get very angry when you make fun of the holocaust, so the hope is that by doing this, they will get a violent reaction in the west. Thus proving some imaginary point. (I am not sure what since they don't actually have a free press, but then people in the middle east don't seem to understand that the government and the press and religion are three seperate things. I pity those backwards sons of bitches, I really do).

Of course, they could have chosen another sensitive group: Louis Farakhan's nation of islam springs to mind; but they don't hate those guys, despite the fact that they blaspheme islam - apparently - just about every goddamn day.

I would imagine that it's in part due to the "zionist conspiracy" some believe to be behind everything bad that happens to the muslim people. Some people believe that the jews are the real power behind the throne in Europe, and if you are going to protest/hurt the powers that be in Europe, you can just as easily protest/hurt the Jews.

Well, they really are. The Middle East is overwhelmingly economically, socially, technologically, and politically backwards. It has nothing to do with Islam other than that religion's use as a weapon by repressive, corrupt regimes in the region.

There is absolutely no justification for the way they reacted to those cartoons; every year, millions of Jews, Christians, Hindus, and every other religion in the world is subjected to some kind of satire, ridicule, or outright offense by the free press, and they don't react like that.

Most countries in the region are simply former leftover colonies from the British and the French empires, still battling with oppressive totalitarian governments. Strangely, with the exception of Iran that enjoys some rights! The whole idea is that most people in the Muslim world are living under oppression and emotions run high against the west as they believe that no Muslim nation will ever be allowed to become free or powerful due to the threat it would to be to the “security” of the US’ darling: Israel. Most people are just using this to vent their anger at the western camp. I would not be surprised if it boils into a world war in the near future with America and its ‘holier-than-thou’ neocon policy.

Maybe the jews should retaliate by mocking the wiccans. It's only fair.

I tell you what though, since those guys burnt down the embassies, isreal can now explain away virtually every airstrike in palastine as righteous anger over palastinian cartoons, and Iran, Syria et al, will have to shut the fuck up and accept it.

Actually, after much thought and consversation with the Resident Jewology Expert in Tehran, I have discovered that this move makes perfect sense. About that. The AEL (Arab European Liga) published a set of anti-semitic cartoons, and the jewish community was quick to respond and drive the AEL to court for anti-semitism. Pussies. They didn't even burn a flag. Let alone wreck some ambassy. I'm disappointed.

Probably because they have trade relationships, and because syrian and lebanese refugees fleeing their beheadings sometimes end up in denmark. Thus causing denmark to have to have do stuff with syria and lebanon.

Denmark is major exporter of dairy products to the middle east, my lebanese mate by loads of arabic dairy products, the majority of which are made in denmark.
