How would you rate your intelligence in relation to other NSer's?

After seeing that in the thread asking to rate your intelligence most people said they were better than average, I was inspired to ask the question: how do you think you compare in intelligence just to other denizens of NS General? Let's see if it comes out a little more evenly. :) Same poll options as the other thread for more accurate data.

Grr... I messed up the poll. It'd be appreciated if a mod could fix that.

Mmmm...Below average, mainly due to a lack of life experience and 'wisdom'. Inexperience, if you will.

Near genius but not quite... If I could organize my thoughts better and had better short term memory then I'd be brilliante!

edit
This was supposed to be in relation to other nser's? that changes alot... probably about average to slightly above.

pretty much everyone who posts here on a regular basis qualifies as "bright"

some type better than others. some are more concerned about spelling than others. those who post in excellent english when i know that they dont live in english speaking countries impress the hell out of me.

but the only person that im sure is smarter than i am is fass.

Don't really know. Is someone who knows the entire history of ancient civilisations any more or less intelligent than someone who can rattle off solutions to mathematical problems at a mere glance? Everyone has their own specialisation, and it's typically impossible to compare how skilled I am at mine with how talented others are at theirs.

We can't all be experts on everything, and if we were the world would really be quite dull.

I'm quite odd; I can normally articulate myself much better verbally than via this type of medium (I understand it is the opposite for most people). Well, in formal writing (essays, speeches, etc), I articulate myself pretty well, and possibly sometimes better than I do in person. Put that into informal writing, however, and that can change! I don't know how I come across to people here, but I often think that I sound considerably less intelligent than my real life self. Not to be arrogant, but that self is really quite bright.

I'm not nearly egotistical enough to fully contribute to this thread, sorry. Rather, I'm just going to endorse the below quoted post...

Everyone has their own specialisation, and it's typically impossible to compare how skilled I am at mine with how talented others are at theirs.

It rings true for me because in my family, one of my brothers was wielding together choppers and go-karts when he was 14 despite having a hell of a time with your average essay and my other brother is a mathematician, computer programmer, and speaker but had his own areas of total incompetence. By any generally accepted measure of intelligence all three of us could be referred to as "genius." Personally, I never thought of myself as more then a well-collected man with his own talents and flaws. *shrug*

Not much more too it, I know that I have an edge over your average person, but that has never meant very much to me in practice apart from the glaringly obvious examples of true stupidity.

How does the saying go? "True knowledge is knowing the extent of your ignorance" right?

Given that i read this forums for over 6 months now, and my post count barely being 3-digited ( ), seems that I prefer to listen and learn? read and reject? Whatever.

On the other hand, given the style or the content of quite a load of posts, I feel I´m quite well off .

As for the useful part of my post, i'd say i dug Sinuhue and Kamsaki's posts ...
but as i'd said in the thread that sired this one,
my "intelligence" is sporadic - dangerously inconsistent.
At least very similar to what Cameroi posted. With just a *dash* of Lunatic Goofballs.

Intelligence is the ability to tell the difference between a fact and a whole in the ground (as versus knowledge, which is essentially a bunch of organized facts). Measuring that ability is basically impossible. Or at least hard enough not to be worth trying.

I think I am about average for the General poster.

I also think I am more open and absorb more ideas than the average poster. I have ADD and have a very difficult time taking in information from reading, so NS gives me a chance to understand ideas in a more organic way.

Don't know about intelligence, but being older than most, I remember more history. I also have done my best to be informed. And I have studied logic and debate.

All of this makes for humor when I see posts that totaly ignore history, readily available information, and logic.

I've scored genius level on every IQ test I've ever taken... which means merely that I am good at the sort of questions they put on IQ tests. So am I smarter than everyone else? Probably not really. I have some types of intelligence more than most, and others less. So it depends what you mean by the question...

Bottom of the barrel for me in intelligence, whenever I debate people here, I feel like im going up against college level theologians, (And I suspect some of them actually are college level theologians, or far greater) it takes me sometimes an entire hour to respond to some posts :(
