This time - it's the 24-year old "journalist" who was telling NASA how to report on .... science (http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/08/politics/08nasa.html?_r=2&oref=slogin&oref=slogin)

Why?

Surprise, surprise: Turns out he is unqualified for the job...

George C. Deutsch, the young presidential appointee at NASA who told public affairs workers to limit reporters' access to a top climate scientist and told a Web designer to add the word "theory" at every mention of the Big Bang, resigned yesterday, agency officials said.

Mr. Deutsch's resignation came on the same day that officials at Texas A&M University confirmed that he did not graduate from there, as his résumé on file at the agency asserted.

Officials at NASA headquarters declined to discuss the reason for the resignation.

"Under NASA policy, it is inappropriate to discuss personnel matters," said Dean Acosta, the deputy assistant administrator for public affairs and Mr. Deutsch's boss.

The resignation came as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration was preparing to review its policies for communicating science to the public. The review was ordered Friday by Michael D. Griffin, the NASA administrator, after a week in which many agency scientists and midlevel public affairs officials described to The New York Times instances in which they said political pressure was applied to limit or flavor discussions of topics uncomfortable to the Bush administration, particularly global warming.

Shame about that Deutschie... you were doin' a heck of a job!

Yet another compelling reason why if you become President, you should leave your friends at home.

Well for all you Bush-haters, now you know how you can get a job and work for the change you want.

It's apparent that they don't vet people, so just give the next Republican Presidential campaign a lot of money, and schmooze with them at the Convention.

Once they give you a job, you can do anything you like as long as you don't screw up in a public way.

See?

Only problem - the schmoozing required to get the appointment would cause most of us to go insane - listening to the same talking point driven day in and day out right from the source.

Besides, some of us would rather advocate working on developing BETTER systems of government rather than just learning slimy new ways to beat the system.

Good to see George C. Douche biting the bullet. But it does make one wonder as to how many other Douches are out there meddling in things they don't understand.
