yeah it's funny.. my national animal is the human, so i get this as an issue:

The Issue

In a bid to provide a new revenue stream for Z3 Zombie Nation's Beef-Based Agriculture industry, it has been suggested that humans could be added to the menu.

The Debate

"The fact is, the human population is out of control," says Beef-Based Agriculture spokesperson Naki Jong-Il. "We have to do something about them anyway, so why not market them as tasty snacks? We could have human kebabs, human pies, human-on-a-sticks--the possibilities are endless! Let's not pass up this golden opportunity to provide a feast, if you will, for our economy."

This is the position your government is preparing to adopt.

"I agree that something needs to be done about human over-population," says random passer-by Johann du Pont, "but eating them? That's kind of gross. Let's just shoot the ones we have to and shovel their bodies into ditches like normal."

Issues relating to wearing the fur of your national animal are not offensive in this case, regarding they advocate the wearing of another human's skin as garment?

And incidentally, all terms are human (we´re the ones with verbal speech, after all).
Besides, I´ld rather coin monkey a primate term, but I digress.

Interesting point. I guess it's kinda offensive. But to all humans. It would be offensive to all monkeys too. Or parrots or whatever animal you choose.

And you conlusion is wrong. You still insult a specific human in the last statement by adding the last bit. So: okay = "All humans are assholes", not okay = "you are assholes"

As for the OP: I did not want to ruin your fun, as I find it quite funny myself, but rather prevent you from some nasty mod action.

Now, on to something serious: Don´t zombies, in essentia, recruit themselves from the ranks of humans? So have all of your population, at one time or another, been national animals? And wouldn´t, therefor, the eating of humans effectively reduce your populace? Or do you only eat small, unnecessary parts, like that gooey stuff in the skull?

My Nation's animal (http://www.nationstates.net/h_n_fiddlebottoms_viii) is the fattened noble, and I've never got into trouble about it.

So, in one of my nations the national animal is the high school student, does that mean I'm out of compliance?

For a while, my nation's animal was The Catholic Schoolgirl, which led to some funny issues. But the mods, bless their little hearts, made me change it.
So now I just have The Porn Star as my mascot.

Crime is moderate, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Z3 Zombie Nation's national animal is the human, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the brain.

I dont find having Humans as the national animal offensive, i mean we ARE animals after all. We just think ourselves smarter than all the rest of the animals so we say we arent.

my animal is the canis familiaris (domestic dog)

from time to time an issue will come up about canis familiaris, and based on my decision my country's description will include something like this:

"Canis Familiarises are being domesticated."
