I got this message in my MySpace inbox, and I dunno, personally I think it's spam, but I always like to give doubts. I replied to this person and I'll just wait a week for a reply.

Subject: this girl i know asked me to talk to you for her.

Body: yea this girl who has been my best friend since ive been young hits me up. She says she sees this profile of someone that reminds her of her first crush. I dunno Im not the one who should be filling you in Ill let her.

I will let you know that she is cool as hell and gets pretty crazy at times in a fun way. to be honest i used to have a crush on her myself but its too weird now. she said she was shy or something to be the first one to initiate talk but she even posted a blog about ya or something

anyways seems like you are all she is talking about and interested in so check her out and add her up as a friend. something might work out who knows yea

-----------------

I checked out the link, and the profile was either deleted or the person cancelled their membership. So anyways, what do yall think?

Oh, just so you know, blocking them doesn't actually help at all, so don't try to go that route. I recieved one of those messages awhile back (which is weird, 'cause I'm a girl and can't imagine any girls would go for me) and blocked both the message sender and also the profile linked in the message -- since then, I've recieved at least six of these per day. It's painful.

Ouch. I knew there was a reason why I avoided Myspace.

Ah... Spammers are getting wily these days. My sister got what looked like a couple paragraphs from various types of books with a link.

Surprise, the link led to random pharmecuticals or other such spamminess.

if you have to question it, you bet it's spam.
i bet it's like those spam emails where you say you want to cancel it, and it just makes it worse.

one more reason not to join myspace (other than not having a social life :( )

A lot of these spam links on Myspace lately have been randomly adding people that later on you're like "Who the fuck are you?!"

For instance -- I got an event invite from one of the crappiest, biggest attempted sell-out bullshit bands in my area (Anything But Joey, if you're familiar with them), whom I've been very vocal about disliking. I followed the invite simply to see who else would be playing, to see if it was worthwhile -- the next thing I know, I'm getting bulletins from them and wondering when the hell I would've added them.

For the most part, it's only spam within Myspace, but sometimes it's total outside crap.
