For those of you who live in the U.S., it's that time of year again: time for Girl Scout Cookies! What kinds have you gotten/are you getting? This poll allows you to vote for multiple choices, so if you just can't decide which one is your favorite, it isn't a problem.

I am the girl scout cookie queen, I like all the types I voted for almost equally, but I think All Abouts are the best ever. When cookie season started this poor little girl scout a church heard from 8 different people "hurry and go hit up Smunkee before someone else does" I bought 8 boxes. :D

It's kinda sad though that I have that rep, some of the people who told her I don't even really know, but I guess when you buy girl scout cookies your name gets put into this computer and................

anyways the girl scouts were selling candy a while back and I didn't buy any I said "I buy candy from the Campfire club, cookies from the girl scouts, and misc. crap from elementary school students as long as they ask and not thier parents"

Somoas and Tagalongs. Though Samoas more, since coconut kicks ass.
Total Awesome

For me, it's a three-way tie between Thin Mints, Samoas, and Tagalongs. Didn't they rename the Samoas, though, so they wouldn't be racist or whatever?

They're about half that much. Unless your local Girl Scouts are scalping them? You can't trust those Girl Scouts.

BTW, there are 2 cookie companies who make Girl Scout Cookies. And both companies make different cookies for Girl Scouts. Your missing Caramel Delights, amoung a few others. The Thin Mints are amoung the top 3 selling cookies in the country, up above Oreo's. And Caramel Dlights are amoung the top 10 selling cookies in the US.

Also, the cookies are not $7 a box everywhere. That has to do with the Local Girl Scout Councils decision which is usually voted by the deligates for that council because it needs to be a democratic vote.

Yeah, I thought I might be missing some. One of my co-workers just bought in a box of cookies of a flavor that aren't on my list.

But I probably couldn't have put them all on a poll anyway, since you can only have a maximum of ten options on a poll here. :(

As far as I know (and please, someone correct me if I'm wrong!), Caramel Delights and Samoas are actually the same thing. I knew them as Samoas when I was growing up, but when I started college I discovered to my horror that the local Girl Scouts weren't selling Samoas. Then I saw a package of what I thought were Samoas on someone's desk, asked where they came from, and was informed that the Girl Scouts always sold Caramel Delights. *shrug*

Part of growing up in America is learning about capitalism. What better way to learn than experience it firsthand? That's why girl scouts sell cookies.

As far as buying them and eating them goes? No, not even if they were made from real girl scouts.

Im a thin mints man through and through, but those lemon ones are also quite delictable. For some reason, the girl scouts havent stopped at my new house at all, or I passed out from the extreme bliss when the cookie came and I can no longer remeber.

Different Girl Scout Councils sell different kinds of cookies. Two that weren't on the list are my favorites - lemon cremes and double dutch chocolate. Then, of course, the one that was on the list, the ubiquitous thin mint.

My favorites are Thin Mints.

I also like the shortbread cookies. (No telling what they're called today.) Those were first cookies they sold, and once upon a time, they were all homemade by the girls. If anyone's interested, here is the original 1922 recipe for Girl Scout Cookies:

Girl Scout Cookies (http://cookie.allrecipes.com/az/ThriginlHmBkdGirlSctCki.asp)

25 years ago, Tagalongs were called "Peanut Butter Patties," and Samoas were "Caramel Delights". The silly name changes have been more recent.

Those new Reese's cookies that are sold in a 4-pack are a pretty good stab at the Tagalongs. They also have a York peppermint version, which is NOT a good stab at a thin mint. :)

We usually buy them after the official selling dates, but its not like its cheaper.

I love tagalongs because I'm a peanut butter whore! Umm! Mmm!

The only one I don't really care for are the lemon coolers.
