Iran's largest selling newspaper announced today it was holding a contest on cartoons of the Holocaust in response to the publishing in European papers of caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed.

I'll bet Jewish people will not be rioting in the streets, starting fires and demanding the death of the cartoonists, as opposed to "The Religion of Peace".

I doubt that such cartoons are going to cause a stir. The first ones I viewed as a genuine expression of feeling. This is just to be annoying.

Oh my god. Too. Much. Stupid.

Hopefully these will just be ignored or treated as a joke and the muslims who did get angry at the danish cartoons will see how ridiculous their reactions were.

As if the reaction by some Muslims wasn't already farcically disproportionate enough.

It's almost as if Iran WANT to be invaded....

I can understand why, the US will get even more bogged down, the economy will crash due to the withholding of Iranian/possibly also OPEC oil supplies and WWIII will start.

Anyone ready for that?

No?

Didn't think so!

I think, those cartoons might be, not ignored, but taken as what they are, just a joke...well, not a joke but a way of critizise.we should not think they are an attack at all because these kind of cartoons are so much common and normal. and, i definetely think this protest has gone too far

I'm seriously starting to consider that we should put Ahmadinejad on trial in Germany for denying the Holocaust.

And they are some people who actually believe Iran is mature enough to have nuclear weapons.

Okay, fine, play the pissing much, but any idiotic artist can make something offensive. Now can we please can get an artist to make something reasonable?

Israel won't take the bait, well until F16 fighter bombers turn an Iranian nuclear reactor into rubble.

Nah, what Iran WANTS is post-Gulf War style airstrikes so it can go, "ZOMGUSRTEHEVIL! We are great Muslim martyrs look at how they blew up our SAM sites!"
Iran is, IMO, trying to re-establish itself as the 'Great Muslim State' and center of the Islamic world, sort of like the Papal States, only not :P
However, I think they may go overboard and end up being subject to a nasty European-US Coalition or internal troulbes if they keep this sort of thing up for too long, especially with the current fuel/oil situation in Europe.
