I just lost miserably in a school district competition for my historic documentary despite doing the best work I've ever done (Which in the years prior, earned me state and county level recognition).

Ya put hours and hours of your life into something you put all your life experiennce into and it all blows up in your face, that's just lovely.

They gave me a pity medal for being a "District Participant." I know what that means, it's a pity medal for people who don't go home with the trophy and a certificate congratulating them on going on to the county level of competition.

I know how it is. I am fifteen and I have had depression on and off for a couple of years, or more. The only thing to do is talk about it, that and try and distract yourself. Play on your computer, read books cover to cover, immerse yourself into a world that is not your own. And good luck :)

i wasn't being sarcastic (nor using my imagination)... i took your post at face-value (i didn't see much to find funny about it if it was supposed to be) and was responding appropriatley with a 'thats retarded' look. telling a depressed person to 'pull themselves together' and 'cheer up' really doesn't help most people with clinical depression

edit: and no, that wasn't an attempt to cheer eut up... i don't know what would cheer him up so all i've done so far is empathise with him

you know what used to help me when I was depressed? sunshine, it's true, it does something to your chemicals, oh and exercise that has fun chemical stuff too, I think go for an afternoon walk around the block, and pick up some juice, dehydration makes life even more depressing. ;)

yeah, I noticed that too when I walk home from work. the sunlight is a real pick-me-upper and fills me with energy... the pisser is that I need to sleep during the day so I can work at nights.
