So what is this Swarf then you say why Swarf is the chippings gratings scraps and other useless bits of metal that collect up when one 'Turns' down an object in this case Metal.

Basically at work when we make Something amazing out of Metal(Nut,Bolt,Dead Weight,some amazingly confangled device)all the excess chippings go into seperate Barrels.

We had Barrels for...
3 Copper
2 Aluminium
3 Stainless steel
and a scrap scrap barrel

as well as a small container for Brass Swarf and one for Copper,SS, and Aluminium Solid Scrap.

So after a certain number of months all this is sent away to a Scrap Dealer who gives us money.

Most goes to work expenses but i got a slice which was

What should i do with this Money?

We have something similar where I work. Here at the abortion clinic we call it splorf - because of the sound it makes when it hits the floor. You can scrounge up a lot of fetal stem cells and sell them to labs in California. I make about 90 to 100 bucks a week extra just from splorf. It's great.

This is actually from 2 or 3 weeks before christmas but it was time to ask you guys what i should do with it.

What should i do?

EDIT i was surprised that we only got $100 each as there was more scrap this time and alot of it was Copper and Stainless Steel which normally rake in the monies.:(

Send it to me. Alternatively, just save it. I'm one of the "weird' ones that likes to save as much money as possible...I do my best not to spend it.

I agree with H N Fiddlebottoms VIII's idea in the previous Sworf thread:
You should give the money to Myrth, for he will spend it wiselier then you! Or you could find a handful bums, and buy each one a bible and a ham sandwich. Then force them to eat the bible and demand that they read the ham sandwich. It won't actually help anything, and will probably get you killed/arrested, but at least the act of telling you to do so made me giggle a bit.

Save it, as you have been, and stop bugging us!
Unless, of course, the NZ dollar starts falling fast, in that case, I'd recommend buying Euro, and at the least, US dollars with that cash. Maybe invest it into some capital, like reality, or maybe a tractor. Do you need a license to drive that in NZ? Doesn't matter, start a lawn mowing business.

The Housing prices are going down and i don't think $100 would cover a house not even in Wainuomata or Stokes Valley

Hmm...a John Deere Tractor would be a noble endeavor and break the monopoly of your 3rd cousin, as they aren't really family anyhow. Let the tractor wars begin! Not that its a really viable solution.

I would go into the Euro, as you might get some return on that. Never know these days. I like the secrecy of the White Text. I got a couple of these some time ago, from a fellow thread hijacker. Heh.

We(me and the other guy) don't get all the money most of it goes back into the company.
It is a scrap dealer that does it and they have been using him for a while but last time it seemed 'uneven' if you know what i mean.

Apparently there is a Brittish word called Orf(Or something) that serves the same purpouse but its origins were for food scraps on the floor.

I guess they make sausages out of them......
