Sometimes finding a value system in which to place your trust and in which to believe requires a bit of work. I struggled with mine for many years before finally realizing that I was "meant" to build my own. Wise is the man or woman who realizes that belief is a choice, not an inheritance.

the problem was, or is, is not what you believed in, but the fact that you were discounting and dimissing what others believe in.

some believe in Religion, others don't
some believe in the government, others don't
some want to instill their belief on others...

the thing is. for something like Morals, you have to find the ones that fit you. and don't worry what morals others are using. Just maintain yourself and by deed, you will pursuade others your convictions on how you live.

I assume you are more right wing than anything right? Well....most people here are left wing and if they think ones ideas are too far to the right, they will simply call you a Nazi...dont read too far into it. Just like if someone on here is really far left, some people will call them commies, but again, I'm sure they dont look to far into it.

Anyway, point is, if your a conservative and you come on a predominatly left forum, dont expect to win any popularity contests with your ideas, but dont go changing your ideas to fit other peoples views either.

The problem with common sense, is that it isn't

Common sense says one should look both ways before crossing the street, and to use the designated crossing area.

common sense says poisoning your body with harmful chemicals is not smart

look around. watch how people cross the streets and how many people are smoking?

Common sense does not equalte with Fascism, but false logic does. I recommend a healthy diet of Plato, Aristotle, and Cofucious before trying to live your life according to rationality. Some of it is obviously worng, and you'll see that, and some of it has a little bit of truth to it, and you'll be able to see that. Hopefully you'll learn from it all.

I found that Plato was a bit vague, he often uses analogy instead of logic.

perhaps you need to listen to WHY they call you a nazi and adjust your common sense accordingly.

if it seems "sensible" to you that massive numbers of people be wiped off the face of the earth for being a certain religion or ethnicity, then you ARE a nazi and might want to think it through a bit more.

if their objections make no sense to you. as in "wanting to go to the college of your choice makes you a nazi" then ignore them.
