My parents could probably be described as middle class centre, and I'm probably middle class left.

There's something else in terms of political orientation here in Northern Ireland; Unionist vs. Nationalist.

Parents are Unionist, I'm mildly Unionist or indifferent, depending on my mood.

My parents are middle-class left. I'm lower-class center-left (I'm only 17, lol.)

I'd describe myself as lower-class centre-left, although by American standards, that's probably lower-class left-left. Hopefully when I'm done with university, I can claw my way into middle-class centre-left or left.

Ahh, left right or inbetween. Is this kinda like Athiest, Christian, or Agnostic, Europa? Doesn't dualism ever get boring?

Great. Another left-right drone who doesn't realize that the simple left-right spectrum is out of date.
You can't fit us libertarians in there! (And none of that BS about right or left-wing libertarians please)

Hush now. Everyone knows the only reason you'd be a libertarian is because you're one of those people who just HAS to be different! You're really either left or right, what elese could there be?

Middle class.

I picked "center" for lack of anything better. In truth, it depends on the issue. There isn't much I'm far-right on, but there are certainly issues I'm fairly right on. There are issues I lean left on, or even put myself close to far-left. There are issues I would be seen as more Libertarian on. There are issues where I don't really agree with any of them. And so on....

If that actually is equivalent to "center", great. Otherwise, you can't really put me in any of the boxes.

I find it difficult to choose one.

We used to be comfortable middle class, but have since moved into what you would call lower class income-wise. Not that our outlook really changed much because of that.

I am left on many issues, but importantly, not so much in economics (which is probably the thing you're after).

So cookies it is.

Geez.

I'm guessing that the person who posted this poll is from the UK. :D

In North America, the lower class are just as likely to be center or right as they are left wing, partly because people who live in rural areas tend to earn less per capita but also tend to vote conservatively.

It's not a class divide around here so much as a rural-urban split.

Though to answer your question, I grew up rural and poor with mostly a-political parents, and now I'm white collar middle class living in the city, and I'm for social freedom, fiscal responsibility, and a certain amount of government regulation. I've recently been voting New Democratic Party. I guess that makes me middle class left. Or is that center? I don't know.

I grew up low class, but now I am middle class, I have always been "right" (American), well, I have been since I started paying attention, before that I was a child.

middle class and left, but our family has only been middle class since just about the time i was born, and we've been through some tough times since then - still appearing middle class but, as i've said before round here, if you're earning 50+ grand a year but 55+ grand is going straight out the door, you're just as poor (or more so) than someone earning 100 quid a week. so while that affords a seemingly middle class lifestyle, its not, and we've since downsized a lot.
suffice it to say, we're working-middle class and my parents both came from farm-labourers backgrounds (really working class)...

so, in short, i feel justified to be a lefty despite a rather costly and snotty education (which wasn't even that great, all things considered)

I was born into a poor academic family, but my father went into software engineering so we're upper middle class now.

Lefty, sort of.

as the great Rab C Nesbitt once said, upon winning the lottery "aye, who'd have thought it hen? Scum like us"

I'm from the working class, with a smattering of underclass relations, and middle to upper class tastes and education.

I'm thinking she means economically, since this is all about economic class? You know, are you all about social equality, keynesian priming the pump, government programs or free-trade, trickle-down, invisable hand style politics? i mean, basically libertarians are just republicans who like to smoke pot and own guns, right? p.s. i promise i am not a troll

p.p.s. my family was pretty middle-lower class. i'm out of university and making my way into middle-upper. and i'd say i'm practically a socialist.
