a 'debate' (read: blazing arguement ;)) between myself and glitziness... which is better: salty, sugary, or toffee popcorn? i suppose you could have buttered in there if you like snacking on lard.

because, as i understand it, americans tend to go for salted stuff, i'll split the poll...

(General is looking a little too serious for my liking right now...and this isn't spam... this is helping settle an arguement (i hope to prove that she's in the minority here in the UK, thus changing her mind so we can share toffee 'corn :D)

loads of butter, and that garlic parm stuff too.

It should have enough butter to soak from the top of the bucket all the way through to the bottom. There should be just enough to leave a shallow pool of butter at the bottom. Don't forget the salt!

I'm pretty sure it's exactly what it says on the tin: popcorn with toffee on it (although it might only taste like toffee, I dunno)

When arguing with your girlfriend, you can either accept defeat graciously, or you can fight until she beats you down. Either way, you're screwed.

i've decided to go for the latter option, banking on her sense of humour kicking in to avoid retribution ;) :p

if I am at the theater I like a bucket of butter with some popcorn in it, if I am at home I prefer plain popcorn with either garlic salt or chili pepper on it (but never both together)

caramel popcorn is good, but I only really ever want it maybe 2 times a year and then only a few bites.

LOL!

I never said any was better! I just maintain that salty popcorn is an acceptable type of popcorn *nods* So really this thread will prove nothing either way.

Also, I never said that salty popcorn was the most popular. Just that it's good. Popularity has little to do with goodness. Another fact that makes this thread null and void.

Plus, you either accept I'm right or have to take back all the times you said I'm intelligent - because, obviously, opinions on popcorn are the true indicators of intelligence.

Ha ha! :p :D

Heron-Marked Warriors said it best : You're screwed.

interesting, do you have a tomato soup recipe?

My children can't have canned tomato soup and also can't eat crackers, so if you have a recipe, then popcorn in tomato soup might be a really good thing for them...

Sorry but I put it in canned tomato soup. Try this link you may find something there, if not there are a lot of other recipe sites on the web.

I don’t actually like popcorn. I think it tastes like buttered Styrofoam. I love the smell of it though. Of course if you smother it in parmesan I’ll eat it, but then if you smother gravel in parmesan I might eat that too.

Salted and buttered! Definitely.

Then too, I like that finely ground "butter-salt," the yellow stuff you can just sprinkle onto the popcorn.
