currently a cheapy 2.1 system i got from novatech, but it delivers surprisingly good sound (better than my old expensive altec lansing speakers anyhow)

I've got you all beat, believe me I do.

It was several months ago, and I was at a biglots. Well, while there I happened to notice something unique, a sound system, with subwoofer and five speakers for thirty dollars (booyah!) I'd never heard of the brand before (Amadeus) nor have I heard of them since, but it was thirty dollars. So, I purchased meself this delightful little piece of shit. And that's what my sound system is. It's cheap, low quality, and kind of clunky, but it's perfect for a college dorm room, where one really shouldn't bring anything of too great a value. It sounds alright, and can put out some serious volume as well.

*decides to one-up Anda*

Welp, I have a Logitech z420 5.1 system with a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS running on a P4 3.4ghz system. The sound quality is great.

I have a cheap-y 2.1 system which I bought for $40 CDN, down from $70. It sounds ok. I was thinking about spending $500 in new speakers but decided against it because the acoustics in my living room suck and it would have been wasted money.

A nice pair of headphones on the other hand...

Hells yeah. An $800 pair of Sennheisers would kick ass. :p

Cheap shitty speakers.

I suppose I could with a bit of work (well, I think so, anyway) hook my guitar amp up to my computer. That would be awesome. But it would either kill my amp or my windows.

I had an Aiwa home theater system a few years ago. It was defective, as the front-left speaker was actually intercepting cell phone conversations. It was funky.

strange. well my sub woofer doesn't work, and it never really did. it didn't get phone calls but it would recieve strange noises that sounded like modems, but besides that it does it's job. it's not the home theater system this one is more meant for a bedroom but i use it in the living room (college student).

That's odd, because the subwoofer on mine didn't work, either. It was really tinny and totally lacking low-end sound.

That's pretty nifty. That could come in useful.

"Mr. Bush, here's your new office speaker system"
"Why thanky'all..."
