Progessive Income tax? (Libertarians, assemble!)

A good friend of mine were discussing taxes. After a while, he said that he was for a progessive income tax. Now here's some background. He's an ex-Hoxhaist turned libertarian. Anyway, he out forth an economic argument for it. Marginal utility of money. However he didn't suggest that it woild br crazy as in 30% 50% or anything like that. First 200k is tax free, then as you get hire you pay more. The highest being 5-15%. What do you think? It sounds fine to me actually.

sounds wonderful. How would we afford to pay for any government though?

probably fewer than 1% of Americans earn more than $200,000 annually.

The top tax bracket is currently something like 36%...

You cut spending. Take away what cannot be done by efficiently by the market.
