In Memory of Boboe

Earlier today I had to put my kitty named Boboe down to sleep. I have been doing a lot of in memory things lately and this is another one. Boboe was nearly four years old and had become ill with panleukopenia a.k.a feline distemper a few days ago. He had a temp of 105.6 degrees farenheit at the start and dropped to about 97.4 degrees (The norm temp for cats is 99-101 degrees). His blood had begun to refuse to clot and he was bleeding from his mouth and when ever he had diahrea. His mouth was covered in ulcers that caused his face to swell. He hadn't eaten in days and then earlier today he had a seizure. When I went to put him down he was limp and cold but still alive. When the vet set him down on the counter he stopped breathing. I automatically began to pet him and within moments hew began to breath again. He knew I was there but he had gone blind after the siezure. Letting him pass away was very hard but the best thing I could do for him.

Within the next half an hour I'll have a few pics of him up on here and possibly a story.

You've got my condolences and sympathies. I don't know what I'll do when my cat has to go. I think I'm going to go hug him right now.

Then he'll bite me, because that's the kind of relationship we have.

Yeah I am going to miss mine when he goes ... he has been with us 14 years now

I am sorry about your kitty, I had a cat for 13 years, it was terrible on me when she died, it felt like I had her forever (since 13 years seems like forever when you are 16) I know you will take comfort in knowing that she isn't sick or in pain anymore, but still miss her lots, and that's okay. Kitty cats have a way of becoming family, and she was lucky to have someone who loved her enough to take care of her, she had a good life. :)

I feel for you as I wonder how long my two old timers have left. They are both 18-19 years old. They were both street cats so I am not sure their age.

You going to get another one?

In a few months, after the virus dies in our house, I plan on getting a new one. Just not from the Humane Society (That's where our cats contracted the virus.).

Those are some old cats, and they were strays, too?
Your cats are officially badasses.

My cat does that too! I have a scar on my left forearm, and one time he bit the Nike symbol on my face! He's pretty much a complete badass.

Kaykami, I'm really sorry about Boboe, I know what it's like to lose pets. :(

I believe the symbol is reffered to as a "swoosh"

My dog died about a year ago...(so what if we're talking about cats, he deserves mention)...considering we had him since i was like 6 or something, eh. He slept into it, spent most of his time round then sleeping anyways, rigor mortis twas setting in by the time we relized the next morning.

I got a delayed reaction bite. He let me hug him, and then half an hour later he got my leg while I was sitting at the computer.
