I'd like to step in and say: Planet of the Apes 2000 was a pile of crap and an insult to the original.

Also, there are plenty of good video game sequels. Movies: I will agree that sequels should just never happen.

Definitely. One of the worst films I've ever bought without seeing first. I can't believe Tim Burton would take part in such a travesty, the paycheck must've been hefty.Worst film I bought without seeing first by far was Jurassic Park 3 (I want my 4.99 back)

Great examples of that are mummy returns, cannonball run 2, deuce bigalow 2, etc.

Because in Germany, failed movies are a tax writeoff in the tradition of The Producers. I just want Uwe Toilet Boll dead because he's pissing on all sorts of cool games for his money-making schlock scheme.

It's the 2005 awards, Kung Pow was in 2002.

Yay for me, I've seen less of these movies than I have of the actual Oscar movies.

Well, I could gloat about my superior taste, but the reason I didn't see them was probably due more to the fact that I was moving cross-country last summer and had neither the cash nor the inclination to see something that would probably piss me off. Star Wars, however, I deliberately skipped. I could tell that was going to be a pantload from the trailers.

Oh man, forgot about Batman Begins and Star Wars III. Which, clenching "NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"'s aside, I didn't mind. And I liked Batman Begins, I think it actually is my favorite Batman movie, probably top 3 superhero movie. I'd have to think about that a little...

Katie Holmes, despite a 'thing' that is largely because she looks a lot like my first girlfriend, really did face plant in that role. It wasn't a particularly well written role, but she did it no favors. I'm sure they could have found some worse actresses this year, but her performance stood out because everyone else was doing a pretty good job around her.

I've been poor and pretentious, the little money of the movie money that I have had has gone mostly to the art houses in town. I've seen a lot of Roger Eberts top ten, though I don't agree with some of them. (You and Me and Everyone We Know felt like it crawled up its ass and died, a sort of self indulgent and self satisfied bit of art film).

Honestly if things had been going better for me I would have stepped in a lot of it. But then, when things are going well for me I don't have time to go to the movies, so...

I'm sure some of the nominations are justified, but it seems to me like most of the slections hinge around the same four or five movies, and the wide majority of them are very recent ones. Crappy movies aren't a recent phenomenon, and sometimes decent actors appear in otherwise bad movies: it seems to me like some people have been endicted on virtue of just working on certain pictures. Eugene Levy isn't generally a bad actor, and I can tell without even watching it that his part is in The Man likely tacked on, but that doesn't mean he deserves a "Worst Supporting Actor" nomination when countless people before him have been botching supporting roles with some regularity for the last sixty some-odd years.

In this list's case, the reason they are recent is that they are the 2005 Rassie awards, so only movies from 2005 are eligable, just like the Oscars are only for the movies in that year. But you're point does stand to a lot of 'worst' and even 'best' lists that people make that are supposed to span 'all time.'

How can Hayden be a supporting actor in Star Wars III? Isn't Anakin like one of the two stars in that movie together with Obi-Wan?

Didn't see that Katie Homes was in Batman Begins when I saw it, so she can't have been that bad...

Coupla things.

Sounds like youre being particular with your categories, and the nominees.
Therefore, as noted above, Hayden is not a supporting actor, but indeed, had a starring role.

Also, "Bewitched", and "Dukes of Hazaard" of not remakes, as they were never movies.
Both of them were television shows.

"King Kong" for instance, IS a remake, as there was an original "King Kong" movie.

Quote from Mad Magazine parody of "Scream 2"

Teacher: Today we're going to study sequels. As you all know, all sequels suck.
Student: Godfather 2 didn't suck! Terminator 2 didn't suck!
Another student: What about the sequel we're in now?
Student: I repeat: Godfather 2 didn't suck, Terminator 2 didn't suck.

With the addition of Aliens, Indiana Jones and Toy Story 2, I think that sums it up pretty nice.

Propechy was a great underrated series of films. Kind of like the Phantasm series. one of the best out there that no one watches (at least no one i know besides myself)

they were supposed to make a phantasm 5 the final in teh series with everyone returning from the previous films with one new member: Bruce Campbell.
