So, what do you prefer?
Limewire/something similar
or. . .
Torrents? (piratebay.org, etc.)

i have been using the limited selection of torrents since shit from limewire forced me to wipe a hard drive.

besides, you can download limewire pro from limewire. that's just funny. :p

I like torrents for complete discographies. Other than that, I use Soul Seek. It's like Limewire, but better (you can find a buttload of rare stuff, even vinyl rips).

I use torrents, because of the betterprotection against file corruption. Also, the file is what it is named, not like limwire, were you could download say Fedora Core and end up with porn.

I've never had a problem with Limewire.

it's not violating if someone payed for it. it doesn't have to be me.

I've never had a problem with Limewire.

hmph. to each his own, i guess. torrents are what they are.

It is violation. Or did you miss it when the federal government cracked down on file-sharing?

ooh, got my laws all confuzzled. copying games and distributing them is fine as long as you don't charge. sorry, thought that applied to file-sharing too.

EDIT: as long as you bought them. then you can distribute.

... That's also against the law. Unless the games are already shareware.

since when was that changed? i thought you could legally copy games for your own uese and not sell them? was that hit in the file-sharing crackdown too?

You're wrong on that count as well. You can't copy a game and distribute it, even if you don't charge.

Not in Canada.;)

I use Limewire, haven't had any problems with it either. That may be because I'm on a Mac, for which very few viruses exist.

That's always been the case. You might have not been paying attention, but that's what the law says.

I use both. I try to use torrents mainly, but Limewire can be used for those simple video and audio files that I need. Not nessecarily music mind you...just sayin'.

Torrents ... probably because the only content I download is things like Linux releases and such. You don't go shopping for legit software using limewire or other such providers.
