Is Hamas a gay organization?

Over the weekend I heard two interviews with Hamas leaders. In both interviews they pointed to the presence of homosexuals in secular societies as a reason why those societies are corrupt and decadent. Clearly the leadership of Hamas is virulently homophobic.

A study (clicky) (http://www.outminds.com/common/forum_message.cfm?mid=354388&days=2000&loc=2) shows that homophobes are likely to be closeted homosexuals.

That leads me to believe that much of Hamas' leadership is composed of closeted gays, and perhaps they're so angry because they hate themselves and they're sexually frustrated.

In an effort to calm Hamas down a bit I propose that all aid sent by the US to Palestinians should be sent in the form of Gay porn, The Advocate magazine, and products for home decorating. That might encourage them to come out of the closet and calm down a bit.

They can hate us more? Wow, I thought the only way that could happen would be if we were to start shooting porn in Mecca or something.

I notice the irony of the reversed homophobia of this thread - that gayness is used to mock Hamas, because obviously being gay is something to be mocked. Allude to them being gay and then point and laugh.

I think you need to join Hamas, it seems.

Oh, relax. Take a damn joke. I don't condem gay people, but calling homophobes gay is a great way to make them all uncomfortable and stuff.

I don't condone your tactic as it is no different than theirs, as it presupposes that being gay is something bad.

I disagree with you. It tries to get a rise out of them because they think it's bad. It's like when we had the thread on the two white supremacist pop singers and I registered on their message board with the name "White chix black stix". I wasn't saying that being black is bad, I was using their own hatred to make fun of them. The same thing is going on here and I personally think you're being too sensitive.

This thread isn't a thread about Hamas hypocrisy. This thread is a about a cheap shot allusion to them being gay and urges people to laugh at them because of this, and to send them - oh, so hilarious - gay porn and The Advocate, because just think of the ridiculous fags who enjoy and read those?

No, I do not think the person who rebuts "haha, you're gay and being gay's so stupid" is better than the person that goes "being gay is stupid." Enough is enough. If you want to stop homophobia, start at your own door step. Using gayness as a cheap insult is a very flawed and hypocritical way of doing it.

*sigh* Not that study again. The same results happen if you show people any pornography of which they say they don't approve (there's another study on anal sex, but I'm not about to try to find that in a search engine...). It's more likely that it turns them on because it's sexual activity they haven't seen before, than that people for some reason claim not to like all the sexual activity that they really do like.

I'm not offended at all, and it really doesn't bother me. I just want you to realise what it is that you are doing. See, already in the thread you've had a posting that goes "When asked how they felt about their victory in the election, Hamas officials were quoted as saying 'Hamas is super, thanks for asking!'," - an obvious attempt to equate gayness with campness or femininity and to make us laugh at all those "fruits" because being camp or feminine is something worthy of mockery.

I want you to open your eyes and to see that even though you may have meant nothing by it, that it still was based in a similar rhetoric as that of the homophobes themselves, and that it was but an invite to different scurrilous portraits of gay people.

Everybody makes fun of stereotypes. When a black commedian tells a joke about white folks I don't claim he's racist against me. He's just making a joke based on a stereotype.

Anyway, like I said, if you want the thread gone I'll ask for it to be deleted.

Hey, my "obvious attempt to equate gayness with campness or femininity and to make us laugh at all those "fruits" because being camp or feminine is something worthy of mockery" wouldn't have been made if I didn't know that my gay friends think Big Gay Al is funny as hell. A stereotype is only harmful if you let it be, and I know from experience that you can -get this- embrace a stereotype and have fun with it, instead of letting something as stupid as words ruin your day.

I don't watch Will & Grace, so I really don't care what they do on that show, and fail to see how that is a justification for anything, as it would strike me that what they do on that show is not malicious, while here the intent was to use gayness as an insult, something I would consider malicious if the cast of Will & Grace did it, too.

Considering that, to many, many people in the Middle East, you are not gay if you are the "Top" in a gay relationship, and many, many Muslims engage in anal and oral sex with other men, provided they are not the reciever, and see nothing wrong with that, perhaps you are correct here, tho I don't think the porn or window treatments are the right answer.

Now, that said, let's all jump on me for exaggerating. But check the facts before you do.

I am the new world order.
I am the Devil worshiping goat fucker.
I am your worst nightmare.
I write furry erotic pokemon stories. -My Own Country (former NS nation)

Well, I think we're all missing the point here. We should be asking for Drunk commies deleted to be banned from the forums and all of NS forever, and hung, drawn and quartered, and then incinerated, for his sig.

1. He mocks the people who believe in all that 'new world order' stuff. The Illuminati --- and conspiracy theorists --- have feelings too. Claiming to be the new world order to them is like claiming to be Allah to Hamas.
2. a. He mocks Devil worshipers. And he mocks people who are afraid of Devil worshipers or who hate them.
2. b. He mocks people who have sex with animals. Therefore he plays to the cliché jokes about places like Saudi Arabia, Australia, Wales, and the Wild West, "...where the men are men and the [goats/sheep/cattle - take your pick] are scared!"
2. c. Just imagine how much Devil worshipers who don't screw animals feel targeted! Ditto people who screw animals but don't worship the Devil. I bet neither of them like being branded by a stereotype like this.
3. He mocks people who have nightmares. (He's playing on their terror here, triggering their fear, in case anybody's too insensitive to realize it.) But he's also mocking all those B-movies and bad novels where the one-dimensional villain says "I am your worst nightmare", and he's mocking the people who don't realize that line is a bad cliché, so they like those movies and stories. Shocking how many people he manages to mock with just five words!
4. He mocks people who like pokemon and those who like erotic stories. He's also taunting people who don't like erotic stories and would be horrified to think their kids will be corrupted by erotic pokemons --- err, "poking". I won't even dwell on the "furry" bit.

That's a whole lot of mocking you're all letting him get away with! Dcd needs something to be done to him to show him the error of having a sense of hu - I mean, the error of his ways.

Yeah, it's a Tuesday. A flaming Tuesday. Bleah...

That was meant to be a compliment; sorry you have your serious face on just now. I was feeling under the weather until I read your post (#22 on the thread) and that just cheered me right up. I'm still laughing.

Since there are even more non-Swedes than Swedes, I have even less chance of knowing the answer to your question than you do of knowing the answer to mine. I guess we're going to reach an impasse.

I could speculate that some non-Swedes ask even more stupid questions, while others ask even less stupid questions, but nothing that vague is likely to do you any good at the bookie's.

Anyway Fass, thanks for giving me something to smile about. Sorry I can't do the same for you --- sounds like you could use it about now.

I agree, any stereotype is harmful if you take it be that way. Example, I have a big nose, thus people equate that with being jewish(which i am a little hebrew) and some will make negative connotations(sp), however I'll laugh at any joke that comes my way. One has to learn to laugh at what people say, because the crying and bitching about it makes one look childish, to the point of when a little boy goes to tell the teacher that someone called him a poopey head.

Because other people aren't as courteous as I have been to make my sig short, and above all, visually small. I don't like having to scroll and look for posts in a sea of enormous sigs, some with annoyingly coloured texts.

Before we jump to conclusions, I propose that NS General send a fact-finding team to discover the truth.

I propose we send Fass, since he is the NS General authority on what is, and is not, gay. He can appoint several assistants and make the trip.

Once he reports back, we'll know.
