Book 'O Daniel canc'l'd.. BUMMER..!!
-----------------------------------------------

I loved that show.

Does that sound like me? Believe it or not, I found it to be a clever soap-
opera with great flawed characters, in really wacky situations.

GOOD freakin' stuff..!!

Great satire of it's intended subject matter.

..and ya' gotta love a Jesus that pops out of a bottle! Wow..!!

I want to see a soap-opera with Mohamed emerging from a gas station gas-pump...!!

..or perhaps from some Imam's microphone.

I think this is a funny bit of news though. A Fundamentalist Christian organization claims credit for it because of their efforts. They managed to knock off the only show about Jesus on TV...he he

Anyway...given that it was really just Desperate Housewives with Jesus...and Desperate Housewives is a stupid show...I'm not surprised it's gone. I watched the first 2-hr premiere and didn't laugh once. The only thing exciting about the show was it's hype.

But if you liked it...so be it...I'm sure the whole season of DVD's will be available on Amazon in 3 months or so.

Somehow I've managed to completely avoid network TV for quite some time now. I heard about this show though. Apparently it was about a preacher with a vicodin addiction and a gay son or something. Why would Christian groups be so against such a thing? What do they want TV to be, nonstop children's programming?

It was a dumb show that only had one thing going for it--controversy.

Well, most TV programming isn't very original, so TV execs turn to controversy to get people watching.

And then when the controversy turns . . . controversial, they get chicken shit and run scared. Their ways are mystifying and peculiar to me, I must admit, but there might be a sort of logic in there. If one carries the two and remembers to even both sides of the equation.

Think about it, it's perfect. If you cancel a program as soon as people start complaining that it's too offensive or causing too many kids to shoot their classmates or something you don't end up making the viewers jaded. You can keep recycling the same controversy forever! If you don't cave in to controversy people will get jaded and bored with programs about lesbian foot fetishists in a convent and will demand something more risqué, like shows about pedophile scoutmasters who own dildo shops.

I actually found it very funny. Some of the dialogue is wonderful, and the Jesus character is nicely done.
