Yellow Mustard and barbe-q sauce.

Try a tide bleach pen, or some of that Oxi-clean stuff.

If it's red wine... try pouring some white wine on it.

If it's white wine, use red wine.

Trust me.

HP will only do that to organic fibers, I think.

Many stains can be gotten out by pouring seltzer over them -- the bubble action lifts the stain out.

Apparantly white wine takes red wine out.

What brand of carpet?

I sell this stuff.

Unless it is Permafresh by Beaulieu you shouldn't be putting bleach on it. That carpet can take 50/50 bleach/water but that's it. If it is Color Solutions by Shaw it should come right out with cold water. If it is Stainmaster by DuPont, same thing, maybe Oxyclean.

Overall though if it isn't any of the above you can use Fantasik with OxyPowder in it, that stuff works VERY well but usually on fresh stains.

blot the stain until dry, sprinkle with baking soda, then pour on vinegar, once the bubbles go down blot again, wait for the carpet to dry and if you need to repeat the process.

remember blot, don't rub, and blot from the outside in, you don't want to spread the stain.

Work with the stain. Buy some more red wine(preferably the same brand). Spill some here and there around the room. Create patterns of color on an otherwise dull rug. Have fun. Be creative. :)

Then you can just "dye" the whole carpet red. Burgandy is the new white.

Or when questioned, turn that moment into an awkward one by saying the following:

"Oh...THAT? Yeah that was when...yeah when....uh...my "friend" forgot my money....good times....good times..."
