NationStates Board Game

Hello. I have made a board game based on NationStates for my GCSEs in graphics. In this game you own a nation (A flag piece). There are three levels to move on and the final level is the winner square. To go up these levels players must answer issuse as they land on an "Issuse" square. There are no wrong answers but it gives them or takes away points that they need to go up levels. The points are "Economy", "Civil Rights" and "Political Freedoms". They must get a combination of points on these to move up...So what do you think of it?...I'm only making a prototype so it won't be the best. Please vist my offical webstie to read more about it: Guinea Pig Home (http://uk.geocities.com/ruth.whiddon@btinternet.com/index.htm)

Your problem is defining the conditions to win. Is winning to have a psychotic dictatorship, an inoffensive centrist democracy or anarchy?

Perhaps you could make a bit like Risk and everyone get different mission cards. You could also add in issues that affect other players as well, or a 'chance' card where something just happens to your country. With perhaps an ability to take risk...

I could. But on this game you can be good or evil. You just need to get a combination of points. There can be many combinations. Some are evil and some are good.

Could you not have 3 axis that you could progress along? Good, evil, and neutral?

Also, that way, a random chance card could have different effects for different players - say theres a card that makes you "good", this would move you forward if you were on the good axis, have no effect if you are on the neutral axis (as if your turn is skipped) and drag you backwards on the evil axis...

What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born
with a heart full of neutrality?

Having got that out of the way, surely a simple line where good is at one end, evil at the other and neutral in the middle is more sensible?

who decides what is "evil" and what is "good"
politics is highly subjective and what is "evil" for you - or for many people even - might not be evil by everyone's standards. nor necessarily morally speaking.

i'd steer away from that hornet's nest if i were you...

Ok...I think everyone took the bit were I said "good and evil" abit over the top. There realy isn't any good, evil catories. It is the same as NationSates were it doesn't matter if your good or evil. You'll just know your evil or good. There are a few awards and punishments for choosing an answer to an issuse. These are just like "Loss a go", "Go foward 2 spaces" etc...But you don't need to be good or evil to be able to win the game. You just choose the answer you want. I would upload the mock rule book but it fails every time I try.

I would love to. But I know I will never get it in the shops. Well its only a school graphics GCSE project. I made it on an idea that I haven't seen a board game do. Were if you don't get enought points you just keep going round a level until you do.It might sound a bit boring but it will be fun as you see you nations points cahnge as you choose an answer to an issuse.

Yay people like my idea...The game isn't on a computer. That 3D image is an image I made on ProDesktop to show what it will look like. I'm making it by hand. I've made the mock and the scaled, its going well. Does anyone know how to upload a word file on this becouse I want to upload the mock rule book for you to read.

You should allow the users to get the manual as a PDF. PDF files are really good for manuals as they are small and compact.

Sounds pretty sweet man, I'd be interested in seeing how you pull off a board game of a game that you can't actually win lol. Incidentally if you were actually considering selling it (and I appreciate that might have been meant in jest lol) then wouldn't you have to get Max's permission, or give him a fat wad of cash or something?

I would welcome if you had the copyright text to the eye logo so I can add it to my game and website, Never mind I will just use I this: Other company names and logos are mentioned and used herein may be the trademarks of their respected owners. Well there will be a start square on the outside edge of the board. You go around this edge until you get enough points to move up a level to the 2nd set of squares and so on...
