I just saw the best tourism commercial. It was for Newfoundland and Labrador and suggested that maybe, just maybe, The Flat Earth Society was right when they proclaimed it the "edge of the world".
You can download the commercial from their website:

Now I really want to go. :)

Looks like the NW of Scotland, even down to the random hairy old guy.
Looks like the NW of Scotland, even down to the random hairy old guy.My family is from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and my ancestors emigrated from Cape Breton, Scotland. More people speak Gaelic in the Canadian Maritimes than in Scotland.
It is Scotland.
And beautiful to boot. I highly recommend visiting.

Well, Nova Scotia DOES mean New Scotland.
But hey, who can't love Newfoundland, home of Come-by-Chance, Dildo and Conception Bay! (All real place names)
Besides, Newfies are great. :D

They were joined together before the Atlantic came between them.

Newfies are great?
Your definition of "great" must be really messed up...

There is little quite so funny as a Newfie telling Newfie jokes.

Be ready to kiss a cod and drink some screech among other things. The dialect can be quite thick in some towns.I'm from P.E.I. and i still don't understand some of the language.;)
The only place I've been out east is Halifax, which was quite a nice place, imo.
I really wish I had the time and funds to visit all the provinces... I think my next venture will be out west. One of my friends is from Calgary and is trying to convince me that I could make some good money working at the stampede in the summer.

Just Halifax in particular, or the HRM (Halifax Regional Municipality) in general? Includes the other side of the Harbour, being Dartmouth. And some other stuff, but eh. Then again, there's not much in Dartmouth. Halifax has all the nifty stuff.

We went for a band competition in highschool, we spent a week between travelling from southern Ontario (by bus...) and staying in the city. Our last day there we went to Peggy's cove before heading out. We didn't really get much freedom to travel, I did find the black market though. It's a lot different from the one in Toronto...

Heh! I'm sure a lot of Halifax is different than Toronto. Very much smaller.
And ooh, Peggy's Cove! I love Peggy's Cove.
Coincidently enough, my band is going to Ontario for a band competition this year!
