How do you explain Kibbutzim in Israel and the Amish in the US? You might say they are falling apart, but that is because outside forces are ruining their lifestyles.

There are no more than 130,000 Amish distributed over much of Ohio and Pennsylvania, so the population is so thinly spread and isolated that it is possible for that to work. Not to mention they sell products to tourists and shop at Wal-Mart.

Interestingly enough, there are only 130,000 Kibbutzim as well. These numbers are so small that virtually any half-decent idea could work. Not to mention they run multinational corporations and manufacture goods for sale on the free market.

The Amish? They make their money selling drugs. They're very capitalist.

...they can only prosper in a vacuum. They simply can't compete with the freedom offered by free enterprise/democracy.

That's why it's necessary for communist states to suppress non-communist ideas.

I am baffled by your statements, but I have nevertheless thought of a crushing counter argument:
Under an Amish quilt and inside her flannel pajamas
The girl wrestled with troubled thoughts
Troubled sleep, troubled dreams
See, the Amish are giving that poor girl nightmares through their vile mind control quilt. Those damn bastards must be destroyed for the good of the children!

...in other words, because both groups engage in free-market trade, they're active entrepreneurs.

More people need to get together and make kibbutzim. IT will work! You'll see!

Pretty much.
