You did NOT just make a James Bond poll with only one Sean Connery installment and no inclusion of Goldfinger or Thunderball.

I add 1000 votes to all Sean Connery movies and -1000 to all non-SC movies.

You cant fit them all with this 10 limit on NS. Both very good movies but I know better.

I voted Other because I meant "none"; I hate James Bond movies, I just can't stand them, either recent or old

You Only Live Twice, of course.

I'm shocked you failed to include it in the list. I'm doubly shocked you included that awful snorefest, 'On Her Majesty's Secret Serivce'. It's no wonder it's taken no less than six attempts on my part to watch that drivel through to the end. I keep nodding off halfway through.

If I were to characterize OHMSS, it'd be that it was surprisingly like watching a James Bond movie wherein 007 never shows up. I prefer to think of Lazenby as some other agent altogether, 006 or 005 or somebody.

But definitely not James Bond.

*Edit* License To Kill? You included that unbelievable cowpat of a film on the list?

What, no Goldfinger?

Hear, hear. There is absolutely no James Bond except for Sean Connery, and that was one of the best of his.

From Russia with Love. Red Grant is a classic henchman, and is the best in the series. Robert Shaw was great. My other favorites would include Goldfinger, Live and Let Die, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, and The Living Daylights.

Although I do have to say the worst movies in the series would have to be the Brosnan films minus Goldeneye. TND felt like a Jackie Chan film, TWINE was flat, and DAD was itself... LTK and Moonraker were both pretty bad too, both too over the top in their special way.

Look man, she kicked ass as Emma Peel. She was well-cast; Solid performances all 'round, Telly Savalas excepted. Production values on a par with most other Bond outings.

But c'mon, I've seen store mannequins with more credibility than Mr. Lazenby had as Bond. I don't get this retro fetish people have lately for this turkey.

Ive seen them all (thanks to the Spike marathons), and my all time favorite is Connery in "From Russia with Love". Never played the game, is it any good?

I was shocked Goldfinger wasn't up there either, although I would have voted for Goldeneye anyway. At least you didn't put Moonraker up there, I don't know what made me want to cry more, the astronauts shooting lasers at each other or the love story with Jaws. *shudders*

My preference tends to run...
Roger Moore Films.
Sean Connery Films (including his unoffical remake of Thunderball)
Peirce Brosnan Films
Timothy Dalton Films
and then the others.
(including the Spoof Casino Royale)

my reasoning is that the early Bond Films (Roger Moore/Sean Connery) the writing was more substantial, Bond was an investigator, find out who stole the Moonraker shuttle, find out who's killing/kidnapping the scientists etc... but the latest ones are more... Here is the person you're to investigate, here is where he is, get your gadets and kill him. (Tomorrow Never Dies, Goldeneye)

The films are nothing compared to the books *slavers at general brutality*

If i were forced to pick though, it would be you only live twice, both in books and films, although live and let die is also good (apart from roger moore, he's a complete twat)

Where the hell is "You only live twice"?!?!? And wtf is the Lasenby film on there for?

That said, I will prob be declared a heretic for finding the Dalton films ok...

Still, Sean Connery is Bond, well on film anyways, he is not much like the character in the books at all...I'm just hoping the next version of Casino Royale will be good.

Don't know about my favourite Bond. Goldfinger is pretty classic: good, slightly twisty plot, menacing henchman, last-second bomb-defusing.

However, I feel Timothy Dalton was pretty underrated. Apparently he was closer to Ian Fleming's original conception of Bond as a fairly cold, ruthless, efficient killer, but with a certain rough charm. You can't tell me Roger Moore's Eyebrow School of Acting - and truly [/I]dreadful[/I] one-liners - was better than that!

Connery films, hands down, but don't make me pick between Goldfinger and You Only Live Twice for all-time favorite (Thunderball's also close, but just too long to be the best).
