very well... some substance to this thread would be asking what being your particular star-sign means to you.

me, being a taurus means i like my home comforts. i love travelling and exploring but i always love knowing i've got a nice home (and a warm fire and comfy slippers...) to come home to.
it means i can be stubborn, but logical and practical too
i'm loyal to people (also a trait i share with being born in the chinese year of the ox IIRC)
and (apparently) quite romantic :P (yet to be tested i think ;))

Yes; but a more (astrologically) better way to say it would be that those are the things that match between what the symbol of Taurus is and you, hence it is the Taurus in you.

He was up here on tour for his Alapalooza promo (Jurassic Park, etc), and the guy in front of me was gonna have him sign his baseball bat. That inspired me, so when i met him (and :fluffle: of course about his work, etc) i asked if he'd ever had any fan sign him. He said no, so i asked if i could.
He thought about it a few seconds, then agreed.
So our pictures were taken and ran in the local paper under the headline, "Weirdness Draws A Crowd".
I also recorded his concert, but not good sound quality.
I harassed one of his merchandisers and got two free t-shirts, one for me and one for my friend ... kinda small and from the prior album's tour, but oh well.
AND ... when i was hanging out with his bass player afterwards, i almost got to cart a load of his gear to the airport (or wherever i ended up, teehee).

Not a bad shot, to be sure. Far better than when i met Douglas Adams. :(

He came to AK as part of the "Great Communicators (!) Series" ... and he was basically on tour to promote environmental issues.
My friend and i thought we'd wear our towels to the event ... for some reason, at that point Adams had emotionally moved on from his appreciation of his literary "work", and didn't really care for the sight of the towels. That didn't become obvious, however, until after he'd derided Americans for their "lack of understanding of history" and their incapability to determine the difference between an Australian and an English accent.
After a few jabs at us, of course, there was finally a question/answer set, and to ensure that at least one of us got to talk to/at him, we took microphones on opposite sides of the stadium.
I got to ask first:
I asked him about the series of photo stills that had been used for one of the HGTTG gloss books and whether the actors used actually portrayed what he'd wanted as looks and such go, and he implied i was asking racist questions and derided Americans for being hung up on those kinds of issues ... and i also asked him if he had anything to do with the "Spaghetti Weevil" (sp?) mockumentary the BBC drew up while he was working for them. He called THAT "ancient history" (!).
So he completely ignored the other side of the room after i was done, asking the four behind me until several in the audience complained that he was ignoring my friend.
So he finally obliged and answered, about whether any of the circumstances in the series TRULY reflected his personal experience, and that he might indulge us (seeing as how he ripped the name from "A Hitchhiker's Guide to Europe", while he was drunk)
So he talked about the napkin incident and a quick flight that could've been done quicker on mass transit.

Afterwards, there was a huge line to sign his books upstairs, and both my friend and i had already talked to him so there didn't seem much point in signing. We swung around to head downstairs, and Adams and his escort (not f) were walking up. His escort asked if we were there to get our books signed, and i said we'd been in a hurry but we really appreciated him coming up, and i wouldn't have minded shaking his hand on a job well done. He LITERALLY snubbed his nose at me and shoved me aside with his escort, and i immediately said, "...or i could push him down the f*cking stairs." I almost did, but my friend grabbed me and talked to the escort guy, who, after explaining how harried Adams' schedule had been, put his hand on his shoulder and winked at him, saying, "We'll see you later."
Both of us were a little upset in one fashion or another, and a few other things happened, but we left before things would've gotten worse.

The greatest fallacy of astrology is the idea, even implied, that the signs or fate or whatever determine for us who and what we are, so one should be wary and skeptical of any wording that even remotely stinks of that. For instance, the idea that people born under the sign of Taurus are "supposed" to be a certain way... Not so. The meaning of the symbol Taurus is just that --the symbol's meaning. How it relates to you is in the characteristics (and events, etc.) that you can use that symbol to define. Everyone has a little Taurus in them.

You can find out your rising sign and your moon from knowing your place and time of birth, and either looking it up in a program like the one linked to earlier, or in a book called an ephemeris.

Here is a quick and easy atlas that will tell you that information.

Im scorpio! 11th November, I did that chart thing and the sun interpretation (i accually bothered to read all that) had some pretty interesting things in it and i found that some of them were also true...
