So there's this company that buys your life insurance policy if you're terminally ill. They pay you tens of thousands up front, so you can live your final days comfortably, and they cash in when you croak. In the mean time they cover your insurance premiums. Basically they're betting that you'll die quickly and they make a profit.
Well, in one lady's case they lost the bet. She was diagnosed with AIDS and cancer in the 1990's, and she's still alive and well. Now the morbid company is in court disputing the contract in order to weasel out of paying up. Fuck 'em. You lose a bet you pay up. I hope the judge awards the lady some extra cash just because the company that's disputing the contract is acting like a dick.

I have no problem with gambling on someone's death as long as you pay up if you lose. Try not paying your gambling debts to some people and that in and of itself is a terminal condition.

They do that crap all the time. A coworker at another company had a "defective" baby. All the corrections cost them 1 million.
The company decided to raise the limit to two million for the workers and the insurence company came back and said yes but not for the baby.
He should have sued but decided to join a company that felt different....
