Hmmm... women who take their boyfriends shopping for lingerie are evil (though, hopefully, they make up for it later), but there has to be a certain part of Hell reserved for women who drag guy friends into said stores knowing damn well there won't be a later and do so just to watch the blood rush from said guy's face.

Reminds me of a shopping spree of my ex-girlfriend...we went to H&M, she took something to the fitting rooms and I followed her...now that H&M is notorious for cheap but also cheap looking lingerie the girl in the next stall told me to sit down so that I would not watch her over the (rather small) stall door...I told her that I have as part of my job seen more naked live and dead women than I could ever wish for and that I absolutely felt no intention in watching her...she was a mixture of disgusted and disappointed...my personal undie-malfunction story

I would never bring my fiance in without the promise of a later. I actually got a thing from Victoria's Secret stating that I can come in for a "private shopping event" with a guest to find something special for Valentine's Day. Do you think they mean I can bring him? LOL

I used to have 2 classes of underwear, those for comfort and those for show, it turns out my hubby prefers me naked though, so now I have only undies for comfort. ;)

as far as the shopping, my husband does it for me, shopping for a bra is too emotional to me, I never can really find one my size half the time and the search for one makes me feel "less than normal", I can really only stand to get through about 2 stores where the sales lady suggests a "specialty store" before I start to cry and demand cosmetic surgery. My husband is much better at the whole thing, he looks, he finds, he buys. He will look for hours if he needs to, doesn't bother him a bit. He even keeps his eye out for things in my size and buys them if he thinks I will like them. It's like having my own personal shopper. :D

Yes, it is a corset. We're thinking about getting a more... uh... professional one.
It was about $130 though there are places where you can get it cheaper (tried but had a problem getting it in before Christmas).

But, unless you're at a REALLY special type of store, there's always the time when the girl has to go into the fitting room to try this on and you can't go in with her for obvious reasons. When that happens, you change from "Boyfriend getting a nice present from his ladylove" to "strange male wandering alone in a woman's lingerie store".

Or at least that's what it feels like, and if you're tying to be good (and earn your reward which said ladylove is currently trying on), it's hard to find a place that's NOT going to look like you're looking where you shouldn't.
