Age?

Most kids shouldn't start lifting until their teens, and even then serious body building shouldn't be tried. Just stick with strength training.

It depends on what you want to do.
Ask a coach or trainer.
If you have a good doctor, ask them.

Oh, yeah, the answer to your question ;) :

Not enough sleep and nutrition can stunt your growth.
If you don't get that, and weight lift, theorictally it can make the situation worse.
Important thing is: ask someone who knows.

Unless you hurt your spine or something like that, you should be fine. Just don't do very heavy squats. I really don't see how could the bench press or pull-ups stunt your growth.

I can add to this: not enough sleep and nutrition (and this means MORE than if you didn't work out) make weightlifting worthless. If you don't give your body the rest and fuel it needs, you won't gain muscle mass.

Oh, well, sounds like you have an idea what your doing then.
About stunting your growth, no, I don't think it will have any effect on you, as long as enough rest and nutrition is taken in, as pointed out by Bogmihia.

But, then again, I'm no professional.
Best of luck!
I used to pump the iron a lot as well, but then stopped. Next month, buying a membership at the local gym for 50 Euro. Gotta beef up a little.
I'm short too, but then people underestimate you then (more chances to show off a number of skills). And hitting the top of doors isn't a problem for me either (especially in Europe, I just fit under pretty much every door)!

Ive seen a couple documentaries on this kid named Richard (something), who, at the age of 7, could bench 270lbs.
He was as professional bodybuilder by age 9.

Hes had multiple apprearances on the Howard Stern show, and many other TV roles.
In fact, he's featured in a cell phone commercial right now.
Disney has looked at him to do "Young Hercules", and "Young Tarzan".

Kid had some trouble with his abusive, and obsessed father, and now hes in jail prison for domestic violence, his mother and father have since divorced.

Hes 13-or 14 now, and perfectly normal, except he possesses a phsyique that would make men twice his age jealous.

The question is, will the intense weight training he did as a small child, have any permanent affect on him later in life.
Although still in excellent shape, he doesnt do the competition-level bodybuilding anymore, and focuses on his acting career.

I've seen it too.
My guess is it will have an effect on him later in life.
He probably had an access of testosterone in the first place, and engaging in that entensive training is going to mess with his body. Too much testosterone isn't good for people! Thus, why steroids are bad!

And for a nine year old to be that buff, is just sick in my opinion. :p
Go ride a bike, play back-yard baseball, and throw the frisbee around with Fido for Christ's sake!

If anything, the kid looks somewhat androgenous.

I dont think theres an excess of testosterone.

It really depends on what your exercises are actually. I myself weight-lift right now, and I'm marginally growing (marginally as in not). I've grown when I don't weight-lift for a while, which seems like your situation, but if you're doing any toning or body-building, then a reasonable height and fat (yes, fat) is required. Strength weight lifting shouldn't give you any problems, however.

I've done weights for about 3 years, not too intensely but i've certainly been at it. Started when I was 15. I'm about 6ft, probably won't grow much taller at all.

As has been mentioned, you're unlikely to stunt your growth unless you injure yourself, specifically around a growth plate area or spine. So take it easy on the squats and anything that puts a lot of pressure on your back.

Otherwise you should be fine. Doing weights around your growth spurt can lead to faster muscle development too, just don't over do it.

Well going into high school I was about 5,7" then I lifted heavily throughout the four years and I'm 6,1" right now.

You may appear to be shorter because some people get that box look to them where they just look like walking squares.

I'm not surprised.

Not many people could survive such a massive troll-thread deletion as we saw today, much less be coherent on the ones not deleted. ;)

Assuming you're talking pounds, yeh, that's a pretty mean squat. How does it feel for you? It's not necessarily a certain weight but how your body copes with it, if you feel too much pressure on your back then don't go any further.

If you can do 20 reps with it, no. If you do half a rep and can't straighten your legs after that, it is. ;) It's all relative, it depends on how strong you already are.
