ok...i am an old fuck...pushin 45(in dog years...j/k)

but you ever have a song give you goose bumps...many thru my years i must admit...
but the black eyed peas got me with pump it....wow,i hate rap mostly,i tolerate it cause my boy likes it(rap) it is droll to me mostly, but like everything,it has it's moments.

now i wouldn't call" pump it" rap of coarse, but it has some rap elements, but damn...i am fired up..i really like the song.
go ahead and make fun of me...but i like what i like.

i get goose bumps from neil young too...but i just cant get over how much i like the pulp fiction background music, mixed with i guess r+b and rap....good combo for me i guess...

what gets your goat/goose bumps?

also inspired by the movies that make you cry thread...gump:fluffle:

Did you see that pic of her "staining" her sweats? Mmmm, drip-a-licious.

Nope. I can't even remember where i saw that, either ... it all kind of coalesces into a collage of Fergie-ness for me ...

I agree with the any song at the right time. I also enjoy listening to the bagpipes and pipes and drums bands, mostly because I'm learning to play the bagpipes.

Bad Religion - Supersonic; By no means my favorite peace by them, but from the moment the riff starts it has so much damn momentum that

Husker Du - Makes No Sense - In my opinion their best damn song. This one just rocks!

Peter, Paul, and Mary - El Salvador - The heart that this peace has is just amazing.

The Kingston Trio - Greenback Dollar - I just identify with the whole imagery of the peice. "But a wailing song and a guitar are the only things that I understand"

Dropkick Murphies - Worker's Song - Full of energy and with great lyrics, what's not to like?

Flogging Molly - Wailing Wall - No comment necessary.

My god, I sound like a folkie! I'm too young to be a hippy!! Why me?

Rammstein- Links 2-3-4. This song gets me all lefty-aggro. Heh. I also tend to headbang in public when listening to Sonne.

Muse- Muscle Museum. I guess it's just the great riffing. And I always liked the "I don't want you to adore me, don't want you to ignore me" bit.

Loads more... Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and qawwals doing Allah Hu, various Queen songs. The 1812 overture performed live. (went to the symphony last week! :) )

Goosebumps as in, er, "wow, this really grabs me and gives me goosebumps". Duh.

Don't you "duh" me young lady. :p There are different types of goosebumps, see. Otherwise this might as well be a "which songs are your favourites" thread. Unless that was the original intention, and I will go find a hole somewhere to crawl into and avoid humanity for a while.

There's the evil and the plain awesome. And the depressing.

Evil:

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
Solitude - Candlemass

Awesome:

Allergic (To Thoughts of Mother Earth) - Placebo
Third Eye - Tool
Part 1 of Sky Valley - Kyuss
We've Got A Bigger Problem Now - Dead Kennedys

Depressing:

Dirt - Alice In Chains
Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle - Nirvana

'course, there are more, but eh.

I've been evilsmilied. How evil of you. :(
And seriously - do you really get goosebumps just because a song is good? There are lots of songs I love, but they don't necessarily "grab me emotionally".
Oh, and if that was the original intention after all - which I doubt, because (up to now, heh) everybody seems to have understood it as "goosebumps only" - that hole will be already occupied by me*. Duh.

Uh, well, it was only a joking evil smile! Honest! :p

And yeah, sortof. Although it has to be really phenomenally good in that grabbing emotion type way. Epic helps as well. Songs that go for longer than 10 minutes are usually the culprits.

Yeah, but a song doesn't have to be "phenomenally awesome" to do it. It can be evil sounding rather than epic or really emotional and do it. Still a "goosebump song" but for a different reason.

What really gives me goosbumps are guitar solos that sound (kinda hard to explain) desperate. The best example I can think of are the begining and particularly the ending guitar solos from Iron Maiden's - Aces High
