Kobe Bryant scored a NBA second best only to Wilt Chamberlin's 100 points in a game on the Toronto Raptors the other night. Reaction?

Meh. I don't like basketball. I really don't like pro-basketball. But I'll watch the sweet 16 if nothing else is on.

That guy needs to stop ball hogging. I have Chris Mihm and Smush Parker on my fantasy team and he's taking away all their shots.

As I said before, Kobe may have 81 points in one game, but the Lakers are still 21-19. Kobe is just a damned ball hog.

Hopefully we'll start to move away from the unfortunate trend of having teams that exist to feed one guy the ball. Hopefully teams like the Pistons and Spurs are the future while the Shaqs and Kobes are the past.

One can dream.

I don't think anyone really cares about the Raps anymore. Not during Hockey season anyway.

BINGO!!! Kobe sucks, he is not a team player. One stat matters, WINS. ANd he hasn't had many since Shaq left.

Muahaha... I have #8 on my team... and it was so beautiful.

(When a guy is dropping 40+ consistently... he doesn't need to pass the ball. If they make the playoffs... it certainly won't be because of Mihm or Parker...)

Hmm... perhaps it is because EVERYBODY AROUND HIM SUCKS.

I am no Kobe lover, but he is still the best player in the NBA. He is unguardable and is clutch like MJ.

Kobe gets what he wants... Wanted ORiley out... he out... Wanted Shaq out... he out. Wants the ball.. the whole team gives it to him. Wants any amount of money... they give it... The only thing is that he wont every get an NBA title where he is a "LEADER??" But, with the rest above... DOES HE CARE??? ***Pay him on how many wins they get only and he will change ;)***

A Ball hog that wants his personal glory anf does not give a crap about the team..... Basically, your typical NBA Team Player now-a-days....

They were down by 15 at halftime, but he dropped 27 in the 3rd to give them the lead. Once he started getting close, everyone on the team gave him the ball every trip down. I don't get the Kobe haters. Without Kobe, the Lakers would be terrible. Last year when he missed 20 games, they finished 34-48. How's he supposed to win titles when the Lakers front office surrounds him with nobody good?

You are just Kobe hating like the rest of America. When are you guys going to learn to give him the respect he deserves. He doesn't have anybody around him... if he passed the ball, the team would suck more.

Maybe you don't realize this, but when it is all said and done, Kobe is going to be regarded as one of the greatest players ever. Whether you like it or not... he is. Not a single player in the league can guard him, he is hitting clutch shots like he is Michael Jordan, and perhaps you haven't realized but he is putting on the greatest performance in basketball in decades...

Thank you! Finally somebody who realizes that the team sucks and he is amazing.

This is a repost from another thread...

"This reminds me of the time a teammate of Wilt (I don't remember which) went on the tonight show and said "between Wilt and me, we scored 102 points."

Kobe will NEVER bring a championship to L.A. by himself, and at this rate he won't even get the (s)Lakers to the playoffs on his own. He needed Shaq, but was too prideful to admit it, and now the franchise is paying the price. Not that I'm unhappy about that, being a Blazers fan"

Are you sure you aren't refering to when Hot Run Hundley said, "My biggest thrill came the night Elgin Baylor and I combined for 73 points at Madison Square Garden. Elgin had 71 of them."

I'm no Kobe hater. He's good and the rest of his team is mediocre at best. I think Laker's management did the right thing getting rid of Shaq. Now they just need to stay away from bone-headed moves (like acquiring Kwame Brown) and make smart moves (shopping Lamar Odom).

I'm only resentful of Kobe because I want to win my fantasy league and I can't do it with Kobe stealing shots from 2 of my players...and because he has a pronstar name.
