lol - that would be the ideal situation. :p

Actually I keep telling my woman that she must be insane and I keep giving her an opening to leave me while she still has the chance. She seems intelligent so this is quite out of character for her.

I love all the leisure time we get!

I've been to Brussels, Antwerp and Amsterdam before and I loved them all. I loved Amsterdam the most though.

My honeymoon was in Longboat Key, Florida. It was beautiful there. Every time I opened the balcony doors to let the steam out, We were stunned by the view. And that made us horny again...and the doors closed and... well, it was a vicious cycle. Suffice to say, we really had no opportunity to sightsee.

Your schedule sounds exciting, but (and this is meant as constructive criticism) I wonder if you are keeping in mind the true purpose of a honeymoon; To boink like horny otters.

I'd suggest you make triple certain there is enough time in that rather busy looking itinerary for plenty of ...you know. ;)

I don't think we will even be renting a car in any of the places we go. I don't think we'll need to, public transport is awesome out there everywhere I went. And I covered a lot of ground on foot in Amsterdam.

There is a lot of free time for us. It sounds like it's all tours and sightseeing but it isn't really. But the boinkign like horny otters thing is done daily anyway so we get plenty of chances to do that... we don't get many chances to travel.

On that note we were talking and thought it might be a good idea to stop having sex for 1 or 2 months before the wedding for some reason, and at the time it seemed like it might be an exciting thing to do. Although later we were like "what the hell were we thinking coming up with a crazy plan like that?"

What do you guys think about such a thing?

Take your time packing because it's not until late April.

How long did you go without and did you both also refrain from... er... um... taking care of business on your own as well during that time?

I vote no on that idea. Because it ends up lasting about 52 seconds when you finally resume activity.

But you can only perform oral sex for about 3 weeks and then on the honeymoon you will probably achieve the desired effect that seems like would happen if you abstained for a month. Oral for a month, no penetration, then have a blast on the honeymoon.

I like your plan!

At first we were like 6 months of no sex, then we said hell no! lets try 3. Then we were like flurk that and thought a month might be better. Then we figured out that we have no will power and would end up saying - let's just abstain for a day and still end up doing it in the limo on the way to the Arboretum (the place we are getting married)

something about the absence of actual intercourse, but still physically pleasuring each other orally can make the next episode of intercourse extremely intense, yet you both last for more than a few seconds. talk it over and maybe its the way to go.

Nice honeymoon trip :) The Netherlands are a great choice, Belgium and Luxembourg are even better. And I can know that, since I'm from that area (I'm dutch) :D And since it's late april, be sure to be in a major dutch town on the 30th of april, it's Queens day then :D

Do you have any questions about certain things, I'm quite sure I can help a little bit out hopefully?

I'll mention it to her and see what she thinks. She seems to be more against abstaining than not lately so she will prolly like the idea.

We celebrate the birthday of our Queen (actually our former Queen, but we don't care). There are lots of festivities then and everywhere you go people will wear orange clothes. Especially the bigger cities will have lots of festivities. Also the Queen(and her family) will visit one or two towns/villages which will also have lots of stuff to do. In other words, one major open air party almost everywhere :D The parties actually start the night before because many people don't have to go to work the next morning anyway.

Edit: There is also Liberation Day on the 5th of May: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bevrijdingsdag

Oh ok thanks for the explanation. I'll be in Amsterdam on the 30th as well as the next day so it looks like I will be partying all night with you marvelous dutch people! I'll bring some orange (don't own any I'll need to buy something) to wear to fit in :p

is there some sort of dutch saying I can master that goes with the Queens day? Like - Happy Birthday Your Majesty or something?

Yes, there are:

"(Lang) leve de Koningin" - (long) live the Queen
"Oranje boven" - literally: Orange up

Ask some dutchie on your trip for the pronounciation :) Or find it somewhere on the internet.

I heard there are travellers checks like things but in credit card form... anyone ever heard of those? would that be the preferable thing to do when carrying large cash amounts?

but anyway it's not like anyone could give a shit less about me. so I don't think I need to worry about someone stalking me or wanting to con me (with the number of tourists there, I'm sure there are thousands of better targets)... I'm too poor to get any money out of. Although there may be some posters that would like to hurt me. Then again, I may be in a kinky enough mood to like it. :D

But I get to and have been doing that every night for four years now.

I don't get to travel to other countries but once every 5 or more years. Besides that will be going on every night regardless. The trip is mostly leisure time to do what we want with very few tour guidey like stuff.

Well crap! Not enough people signed up for the tour on teh date we wanted to go so we had to pick a different tour that was the next closest date (not it's two weeks after our wedding rather than one).

Now our honeymoon is London, Amsterdam and Paris. I'm not all that interested in Paris but it makes my woman happy so thats the plan.

Wow - the place you got married is gorgeous! Where was it?

Many congratulations and I hope you have a wonderful honeymoon and life together! :) :fluffle:

It was at an arboretum in Southern California. We got married in front of a waterfall there (oh I got a pic of the waterfall too):

I agree-the brief glimpse those pics give us show a very casual and comfortable good time. Beats a tight tux in a hot church anyday. My next wedding will be on the beach, in the surf. I'm just waiting for my next wife to be born.

C'mon-I should be able to see some "soiled bride" shots.

Have a great trip my friend !

Yes, thats exactly what I was goign for. I wanted everyone to relax and have a good time. There were many sighs of relief when I told them not to dress up and come casual and comfortable.

We had no wedding party or anything like that.

Her dad put it best "simple but meaningful"

We were first talkign about the beach but every place we found on the beach was way to expensive.

Maybe I'll share the naughty pics with blanked out naughty parts just to be evil.

Thanks again.

You could become the resident saver of the day for all NS'ers that travel to the Netherlands. Perhaps we should build a giant lamp to shine a symbol (the NS all seeing EYE) on the clouds for you.

I booked my honeymoon for late April and was wondering if anyone that is familiar with the places I am visiting have any recommendations.

These are the tour highlights:
Amsterdam
Vol endam
De Haar Castle
Maastricht
Bastogne
Luxemb ourg
Orval
Dinant
MonsBruges
Gent
Brussels
Antwerp
Delta Expo
Deflt
Rotterdam

*snip*

Day 3 - Amsterdam sightseeing & at leisure First highlight is a canal cruise in a glass-topped boat. Next, a visit to one of the city's diamond-cutting factories. Then, with a local guide, we visit the Rijksmuseum before a sightseeing stour. Later, an excursion to Volendam with a cheese and clog-making demonstration. Tonight, a dinner of Indonesian specialities. (Buffet Breakfast / Highlight Dinner)

*snip*

You're doing all of that in one day? Blood-y hell!

On another note, Bruges is a very lovely town. Make sure you sample plenty of the Belgian brews. I particularly liked the dubbels & tripels.
