How come shows made by the Adult Swim team only have one season.

The Venture Bros.
Robot Chicken
Harvey Birdman, attorney at Law.

I'm probably forgetting another. However, the pont is, seems like shows that were made by the Adult Swim team only see one season then it's stuck in re-run hell forever. I wonder why. I would love to see a second season of Robot Chicken and The Venture Bros.

Oh God, Milk Chan was horrible, I'm glad that show is either on really really late, or off the air.

I love [AS]. I just watched American Dad, Family Guy, The Boondocks, and Robot Chicken.

I'd still be watching, but this is the first time (in a long time) that I've been able to use my computer at this hour.

Why bring up Milk Chan? Do you like pulling the wings off flys, to?

Some of those shows just started, which is why they only have one season. Venture Brothers has a second season that reportedly is coming out in June, Robot Chicken's new season starts next month, I think. Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law has three seasons, I haven't heard about a fourth yet. They do re-run the hell out of things, expanding the block to all week was a little premature given their library.

What's all this hate on Minoriteam? The humor was subtle and intelligent (an ounce of speed? gold!), and the art style was great. 20 episodes coming soon, by the way.

And Stroker and Hoop is tops. Hoop killing the "ninjas" was one of the greatest moments in TV history. Shoving a random dude in an oven is classic.

Mission Hill rocked, as did The Oblongs. Eh, if only networks gave good shows a chance, regardless of their ratings...

I thought the Oblongs was bad, but compared to Squidbillies and Milk Chan, it is quality TV. Squidbillies and Milk Chan are worse than the shows that Cartoon Network cut its teeth on: I am Weasel, Cow and Chicken and all that other crap.

WTF? Do you people not watch the bumps? It's currently in its first season. Wow.

And another WTF: The humor is subtle. You have to glare, not glance. It's very funny if you know what's going on.

Third WTF: Milk Chan was fucked-up, authentic Japanese Anime. Not for everyone, but definitely not shit.

Harvey Birdman has 3 Seasons actually, albeit they first two seasons are only 10 eps each. And the third is currently at 12 eps.

Go to the bathroom during the commercials. Bumps are there for your eyes. Commercials are for urine (preferably in your toilet).

Deathmatch had a wonderful premise but it was too hard to keep it up. It was great at first but it sort of starts to wear on you: shows that invariably take place in the same area with the same plot formulation generally don't perform well in the long run.

That's true, but it was still a good show while it lasted. I wonder if the DVDs are still avilable. I'll have to buy them sometimes.

Yeah, I've actually played it. The finishers are, at times, mildly amusing, but the gameplay is utterly horrific and there's not really any plot to speak of. If I had been playtesting that game I would have implored the studio not to release it and if they did, not to put my name anywhere in the credits.

I miss Undergrads

That show kicked ass, I'd forgotten about it..

I really wish [AS] would bring back more of the anime and less cartoons; Trigun, DB-Z-GT, Yu-Yu-Hakusho[an early morning spot on saturday mornings is Bullshit], Inuyasha(dunno if they cancelled, haven't seen it on though). Good on 'em for Neon Genisis though, one of the best shows they have on air. The only cartoons I can stand that [AS] is still airing is American Dad, Family Guy, and Futurama..

I have extreme disdain for most of the cartoons they aire- though Venture Brothers was hilarious, Squidbillies, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force were tripe.

I wouldn't mind if they did show so much spastic anime...the ones with the big wild takes and all the screaming. Most of what they show now has that and it grates on my nerves.

The anime like Cowboy BeBop (which had the occasional wild take) or Ghost in the Shell where compelling-and I get in trouble for this but Big-O would be a lot more compelling without the giant robot. If they showed more of this more mature faire I would be more interested in the anime, but I am probably in the minority. I just can't get into all that screaming and exagerated action anime.

But I like the comedy cartoons that are spastic at times. Go figure.

The screaming usually isn't a huge part, the appeal lies with the drawing, worlds, and action. Exagerated makes it interesting, IMO. As in Trigun, exagerated shots & dodging made it awesome.

Cowboy BeBop had "Ed" who's whole character is to be an uber-wild-eccentric nerd. Originally I thought Big-O was a joke - another mecha - meh. I watched it a few times and it was admittedly entertaining, but yea - the robot fights kind of killed it; it would make a better show along the line of "Conan"

Like what? *brain isn't properly functioning, enough to write this, though.. hm*

It's the screaming and wild takes that take me out of the show. If Tri-Gun had less of that I would have enjoyed a great deal more, because much of that show interested me. It's just the Jerry Lewis bits and the screaming...ugh, just got on my nerves.

Ed wasn't as exagerated as some of the characters can get. That he was a bit weird didn't bother me, it's the spasms and the yelling and the one giant bead of sweat thing that grates.

A lot of the popular ones, unfortunately. Inuyasha drives me nuts, it's almost like all the characters scream all the time...and the flayling arms and exclimation points and all that. Evengelion does the same thing, though it seems like it can't decide if it wants to be serious or spastic. Fullmetal Alchamist ]would be cooler without the spasms and wild takes. I'm having a hard time thinking of the names of others, I watch them once or twice and if they're full of wild takes and screaming I generally don't watch them anymore so I don't remember the names. The exception is FLCL, that's about as spastic as they come but the story and the way it's told is compelling enough for me to forgive it and actually watch the show. So it's not empirical on my part, it's just when I looked into why I didn't like most anime but liked some that's what I noticed.
