Who would you vote for if this was the 2008 American elections?

Hillary Clinton or Rudy Gulliani.
Cannot think of a name

What do you want to bet it'll be neither?

Guiliani. Though I wouldn't mind McCain running either - or as a team.

How about neither?

Billary will surely incite a war on entertainment. I dunno what the fuck Rudy will do, so I can't be on his side, either.

Gulliani is the better of the two. Hilary Clinton just seems to eager to achieve her goal of being president no matter the cost and would probably play into the hands of the neo cons very easily. Gulliani seems a fairly progressive republican (like there used to be before the whole republican=conservative movement took over) and could see him repairing the USA's international reputation and curbing the national debt.

Meh.

Sounds like a third party choice to me.

Rudy lost my support when he was stumping for Bill Simon in California.

There are indications I've heard that the Republicans would back McCain in 2008. I would gladly vote for a Captain of the USN.

LOL.

I'd vote Hillary on the basis that if you're willing to take the PATRIOT Act she shouldn't be too much of an imposition. And ifshe is maybe you'll learn a lesson.

Win-Win.

TBH I hate both options but what can you do?

I didn't vote for Kerry, for one I was 17 in November 2004. Kerry is an idiot. I would be fearful with that flip flopping moron at our helm. The last thing we need is someone who would rather appease the French than defend our country. Besides, Kerry did not serve this country well, he betrayed it.

And I wouldn't vote for McCain just because of his rank. I would vote for him based on his support for cutting the bullshit pork that both parties push through congress, and I also vote based on his views on foreign policy.

True, I just find it amusing that people seem to want a military record in their leaders then vote in an absentee NG rrather than the guy wo actually went to 'nam (other aspects of the record aside, I'm fairly sure Kerry at least ended up in combat...).

The fact that whoever the Reps nd Dems have doesn't make a shred of difference to the nation is more depressing.

Well odds are he heard gunfire at least. I'd have thought so given that medals of honour don't get awarded free until you're a general do they (or if you're royalty/aristocracy of course but the US isn't meant to have one...)? And purple hearts actually require injury.

Hillary might not get re-elected in 2006.
There's a scandal involving her scumbag husband and his cronies brewing, again. Of course the report was issued a few days ago with about 120 pages REDACTED at the request of the Clintons attorneys and Henry Waxman (Dem.-Ca.). I hope that the 120 pages will be unredacted in time for the vote in November. Add that to the perpetual scandal that was the Clinton Presidency and we may finally be rid of these two turds.

At one point during my two years in Vietnam, I was in a basecamp when we recieved incoming rocket rounds. A lieutenant acquaintence of mine ran out of the tent trying to get to the bunkers, wrapped himself around some tent-ropes and got several abrasions. He was awarded a Purple Heart. But at least his "wounds" were relatively legitimate and not self-inflicted.

Feh, I'm not going to dispute the legitimacy of the purple hearts, if they're that easy to get why bother? You have your opinion on Kerry's, others have theirs and I can't be arsed. Your president after all. Somethimes though, he's our problem.

My problem with statements like that is you sound ignorant. You're saying if a moderate Republican came on, with reasonable social stances and terrific foriegn policy/solutions to the middle east, etc, you wouldn't vote for him because hes marked as a Republican? That's ignorance, plain and simple. And I know you're going to reply back with "well maybe, but that would never happen" but it could and that doesn't excuse comments like that.

Anyway, how about option Other: Condi Rice?

I've said it before and I'll say it agin. She's got a look in her eye that reminds me of Hannibal or something. Cool as a suave English psychopath running the US would be the Whitehouse dinners could get difficult.

I sincerely doubt it'll be Halal for a start...

(Seriously she has a worrying look to her).

If elections were tomorrow I'd be 60% in favour of Rudy. He was a great mayor of New York a much better leader than Bush and as good as Colin Powell was during 9/11. In New York he reduced crime and got results. However the fact he blindly supported the neocon war in Iraq makes me worry. If the campaign went bad for him I might eventualy vote for Clinton despite her social conservativism. I tend to agree with her middle of the road economic and social policy, that is if she follows the same doctrin that her husband did.

For me the ideal ticket would be a Feingold-McCain!

Kerry is an idiot. I would be fearful with that flip flopping moron at our helm. Most of the supposed flip flops Bush and Cheney accused him of were not in the Congressional record nor the voting record and had no supporting evidence other than the fact that Bush and Cheney said so. Unless you're an idiot, you already knew that and were lying.
The last thing we need is someone who would rather appease the French than defend our country.Point out one time John Kerry had a choice between appeasing the French and defending the United States and chose to appease the French. The Congressional record, the voting record, and his campaign platform are available for you to search through.
Besides, Kerry did not serve this country well, he betrayed it.So you think serving in the military constitutes betrayal of country...
I would gladly vote for a Captain of the USN....except when it's politically convenient for you to support war veterans. You flip flop.

I also wouldn't dance naked in a fire ... does that also make me sound ignorant? My decision is informed. How is that ignorance?

You're saying if a moderate Republican came on, with reasonable social stances and terrific foriegn policy/solutions to the middle east, etc, you wouldn't vote for him because hes marked as a Republican?

That's right. Not even McCain, whom I admire.

That's ignorance, plain and simple.

No, it's an informed decision based on 15 years of careful study.

And I know you're going to reply back with "well maybe, but that would never happen" but it could and that doesn't excuse comments like that.

... and what have we learned?

Anyway, how about option Other: Condi Rice?

Not if you paid me.

A McCain/Giuliani team would be more than incredible. They would be the one team
TO RULE THEM ALL!

Seriously, while some extreme Republicans might not be happy, they would cheer themselves up when the Republicans take New York.
