Saying Goodbye
:( Last night my cat, Kiyo, died. I miss him so much and I was so mean to him before. I told him that he was such a bother when he tried to sleep by me. I know he would not have died if my father hadn't been a cheepskate and refused to take him to the vet. All I cat say is "I'm so sorry Kiyo. I miss you so much."

Awww. I know how that feels. I'm just really, really dreading when my little Skuttles dies. He's getting old ( like me! ) and probably doesn't have too many years left. He and I were introduced when I was confined to a wheelchair for over six months, and have become very close. He loves to lay on my chest, and will take my face between his paws if he thinks I'm ignoring him. It's really something how close you can get to a little animal.
After you grieve for him awhile, you should consider adopting a kitten from the Humane Society. So many people just abandon them. :(

I'm sorry to hear that.
I don't know if I'll get a cat from the humane society. We took him there and that was part of the reason he died. He died horribly and I feel so bad!:(

I'm very sorry to hear that, Kaykami. I know how tough it can be to lose a feline friend like that. They can become such important parts of our lives, and the loss that comes from their passage onward can be crushing.
Just try to remember how good his life was and try not to dwell on his passing too much.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Losing a pet is like losing a limb in my opinion. Take care, and try not to blame yourself; you may have sniped at him a few times, but I'm sure he knew you cared about him. You couldn't have prevented his death.

It's sad that many people don't treat the loss of a pet with much of anything, the death of a pet creates as much stress as the death of a family member (not immediate family) or close friend does though, and having lost a couple feline friends in my day, I've been there and it's always sad. I would reccomend possibly getting him cremated and perhaps having a proper goodbye. *hugs*
Also, did he get feline leukemia from going to the humane society? I hear that can happen when a cat without it comes into contact with a cat who has it.
He died because he got an infection when he got fixed fro mthe Humane Society. I know it's not their fault but I still feel ike it is. He died by inhaling his own vomit. Believe me, it wasn't a pretty sight. Go here please:

I may have done the best I could but it doesn't feel that way. I wish we could know when they are going to pass because it would make me feel better knowing that it wasn't anyones fault in particular.

I'm so sorry about your Kiyo. He looks like my Persephone, who is a pound kitty. If I lost any of my "kids", I would be in so much pain.
I miss my spaz baby so much. It seems so unfair.:(
