You meet someone and you hit it off, you get their number...

How long do you wait to call them?

Personally... well, to be perfectly honest, I'm to shy to ever call. You'll be lucky if I even answer the phone...

You shouldn't do that. If someone gave you their number, then you should swallow your pride and just go for it.

I used to get nervous all the time on the phone, but it's a necessary evil, so I forced myself to get used to it. Plus it does get people's hopes up if they are interested and took the chance at giving you their number...

Your wording is confusing me a bit.

So if a girl calls a guy just after getting his number it looks like a ball and chain sort of thing, is that correct?

I normally don't even take down any numbers, only if I absolutely can't find any excuse... I know it does get people's hopes up. That's exactly the problem.

You should try developing some sort of comfort level with the phone though, letting shyness cripple a social life sucks.

I never called anyone. Guys would give me their #'s all the time, but I never called, wasn't interested. The only time I was actually interested enough to call, I lost his number :headbang: I suppose it's a good thing he didn't lose mine though, since we are married now.

In general though, I would say you should wait until you won't throw up if they actually answer.

Oh, I'm comfortable with the phone, I'm just not comfortable with people.

Only if I can't help it.
I hate talking to people I don't know, smalltalk is something I despise.

No, we didn't have pens and he asked for my number and said he'd remember it... I'm hoping he did... but I'll see him in class on Monday. He has to show up, we have presentations.

That's something at least. Even though it won't make the waiting bit better.

I'm prone to losing things so, umm, not often. But a pretty girl can, in this as in all things, do whatever she wants and have things work out.

I usually talk to her when I roll out of her bed in the morning.

Other than that, 2 or 3 days, depending on when I meet her.
