President Kenedy of the Untied States of Emericaia?
Wasn't it "Do not ask what your country will do for you, but what you can do for your country"?
Oh sorry that was Kennedy of the United States of America.
I think it is a good idea, every person should be the bee search for the pollen wich wil promote a decent, just and moral society.

"My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you: Ask what you can do for your country."
Don't really understand what this thread is about. I remember the quote as it was said. It was an age of moderation and not greed. An age where people dreamed of better things rather than conserving the wrongs of the past. It was an age of vision. An age where a president could lead rather than follow. Bobby ran for president 8 years later with the theme. "Some people see things as they are and ask 'why?', I dream things that never were and ask 'why not'?"
I feel sorry for all of the young people that grow up without a vision of a better world or a dream of how the world could be improved. I feel sorry for all of the young people that grow up with so much greed in their hearts that they don't see that cooperation can not only help them but help all. Sometimes, many times, it's far greedier not to be greedy. If you give a little now you gain so much more later. I don't know of a government, or a business or few people that think beyond this moment. I lament that loss of hope.

It does seem somewhat oxymoronic in that a government is intended to represent and act in the interests of its populace, however one must consider the context of the quotation, irrefutably in the Cold War, wherein sacrifice for the end of defeating communism was required to maintain capitalism.
