the cruiser blocks south park

So apparently the infamous 'Please come out of the Closet Tom?' episode of South Park will never be shown again on any TV station anywhere in the world. Ever.

At least not anywhere where Tom Cruise's Lawyers can file a libel/defamation suit. Apparently Parmount are so shit scared of the consequences, we won't get to see it in the UK when the next series airs over here. Tsk Boo!

Hmm, He certainly seems to be secure in his sexuality - at least in his own mind.

If every celebrity that appeared in South Park filed a defamation suit, South Park wouldn't have made it out of the second season.

Do you have a link to the story? I know it's different in the UK but in the US the parody laws are pretty deep for public figures, I mean Larry Flynt was able to imply that an evangalist lost his virginity to his mother in a parody so I think that a cartoon can get away with implying that Tom is gay in a parody.

This has been said before, but I think it bears repeating:
Tom Cruise is nuts (http://www.tomcruiseisnuts.com/)

Touchy little bastard...but that means I won't see it on UPN (the only thing that passes for a Paramount channel here) which I wouldn't anyway because for some reason I get an FCC blackout for that even though there isn't a local channel showing it at the same time. But I don't know that Comedy Central wouldn't show it again. Or that it wouldn't show up on a season DVD compilation.

It's kinda puss to wimp out because someone might sue. That always seems extra touchy to me. It's parody. Ah well...

The real wussies here are the UK TV execs. Are you telling me they showed the Sally Struthers is Java the Hutt episodes, Barbara Streisand is mecha-Godzilla, Mormonism was founded by a crazy guy with a bunch of stupid people, Russell Crowe goes around the world beating up people, David Blaine is leader of a suicide cult, that Paris Hilton thing, Mel Gibson is a psycho lunatic, and Jennifer Lopez is a crazy, psycho bitch, but they won't show the episode that insinuates Tom Cruise is gay?

Christianity, Islam, Scientology, Buddhism, Hinduism, Shintoism, Judaism, whateverism - there's really not much difference.

In case that site is slow to load (like when a few 1000 jolt readers go there at once) - you can easily grab it of a torrent. Downloading southpark episodes is legal.
