England by far. I'm going there this summer.

I've only ever been to Italy...

I want to see more of Europe eventually. One of my friends is moving to Amsterdam after graduation, so if I can scrape together airfare I can sleep on his couch.

Even so im from ireland I voted Ireland because my favourite thin to do is traveling my countryFair play to you - I wish I could get off my arse and do the same. I've been to seven States in the USA, Canada, all over the UK and a lot of Europe, yet I've lived here all my life but have managed to explore only four of the 32 counties (and even then far from everything interesting in those counties). Yet I know there are so many beautiful places that I should be seeing.

I've only been to England and Ireland in Europe.
I prefer Ireland.

The Greek islands are lovely; I visited Crete a couple of years ago.

I'm from England, so I thought it would be unfair to vote for my own country, although I have spent many happy holidays here.

I voted for Greece, as I have been to Crete twice. The place is brimming with history and culture, the people are friendly (well, apart from one old guy who mistook me for a German and waved a gun at me. Seems they don't forgive and forget), the beaches were pretty much unspoilt (although this was 15 years ago), the sea was clean (in the south at least) and the food was delicious.

First I was all like, "Yeah, Finland!" But I live there. Then I thought, "Wait, Sweden's better!" But then I thought some more and was sure on one thing, "I could live in Sweden and practically do...so, why not Spain, you've been there, its great!" With Scotland at a close second.

I'd like to go to Croatia. Hey, wait, I'm going there this summer! Wohoo!

Seriously though, Italy will always have a special place in my heart.

I've been to most of the countries in the poll (I've been to the UK a few times, actually), but of all the places I've been to I prefer Malta the most. Gozo, in particular. I'm hoping to retire there or something one day. Assuming I don't invent an Uber-Magic-Potion that keeps me alive forever, in which case I intend to take over the universe instead of retiring.

Out of the countries in the poll that I've been to (Ireland, Uk, Spain, France, Greece), I would say Greece. There's something about it.

I won't say Ireland or the UK, because I live in the UK, and the Republic is 40 miles down the road. And in any case, the North is the best part if Ireland ;)

Outside of the list, Switzerland.

And in any case, the North is the best part if Ireland ;) I haven't really travelled extensively in the Republic, I admit, but even so I have to agree with this. How could you beat the Antrim coast with all its beautiful Glens, the Giant's Causeway etc or the wonderful Mourne Mountains in Co Down? I've never been myself, but I also believe that Enniskillen is stunning.

And since the Troubles have effectively ended, Belfast is my favourite city ever :)

Can't argue with any of that. Best part is that all the beauty spots are unspoilt because of the Troubles. Nobody went on holiday to NI, so there's not much of the commercialism that many other countries get at their places.

And I'll agree about Belfast. I've been to many cities...London, Dublin, Buenos Aires, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Budapest, Madrid, and a few other besides...and Belfast always wins.

Would have to choose France, since it is the second most beautiful country on the planet (behind my home country of Canada, of course).

greece has to be my favourite (crete/santorini)

Hard one. I spend most of my holidays in Finland (surprise surprise) and I really like it a lot. If I think back some of my best trips abroad places like Barcelona, Madeira, Edinburgh, Berlin, Czech Republik and northern Norway come to mind. I'll say Czech Republic as other choices are not countries.
