Palmer's death was a shocker, but a good way to open the season. As much as I loved him, I wasn't heartbroken. Michelle, on the other hand - gaaaah! I couldn't believe she died! I figured they'd just both be in critical condition or something!

I hate 24. Watch for a few episodes. During one, I got up, went to the kitchen and made myself a cup of coffee- came back and asked my flatmate
"Crap, I seem to have missed something... Who's this new guy?....Wait, who's that dead guy?....wait.... why is that guy holding that guys daughter hostage....WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?! I ONLY WENT TO THE DAMN KITCHEN FOR 3 MINUTES?!?! Screw this... Family Guy?"

How can you convey the events of a day in real time if it's in 24 45 minute episodes?Because of the advertisement provisions in the USA, where the show is made, it has to be 45 minutes long. It will first be shown on Sky One here in the UK, which has the same problem. You'll only notice that it's actually 45 minutues as opposed to an hour if you watch it on the BBC or on DVD.

I'm thinking it was biological/chemical because they had to wear gas masks (but didn't seem too concerned about radiation); the device they used didn't look like a Geiger counter either.
Needless to say, the terrorists lost their Yiddish cups when they got decieved and were raped by Jack's Flank-2 duress code; however, they did get it back when they revealed their new WMDs.
I don't think the black guy is going to be able to stop them. :mad:

Why has there been no mention of the Chinese gov't wanting to take the newly emerged Jack Bauer into custody? I missed part of the first episode so maybe it was mentioned there but I think it is a major plot flaw.

It was JUST revealed that Bauer is alive. Since only a few hours have gone by the Chinese are not going to find out yet. Perhaps the issue will come up towards the end of the season.
