I love Canadian Politics and I have to applaud for NDP's creativity. It looks like there is actually leftist who can bite back with substance :)

Yes, it's very easy to be creative when you don't stand a chance of actually winning the election isn't it!

Then again the only party running in this election who has ever held federal office is the Liberal party, so it is easy to go after the only party with a record. A mighty fine record if looked at objectively. Thanks to Paul Martin lets see what we have... just to name a few things..

Unemployment at a 30-year low.
Dollar up 15% since Martin took office.
Interest rates low.
Balanced budget.
Trade surplus up.
inflation down
Personal income taxes dropping.
US caving on softwood.
oh yes, and We're still not in Iraq as Harper wanted us to be.

But yes, lets get someone in to fix that... cause heaven forbid we have a stable government.

Stephistan, you're forgetting the other side of the Liberal coin...

And if Layton were to become PM we might as well as declare the nation bankrupt right now and save ourselves the trouble later.

Like Stephen Harper's any better with his notion of increasing spending AND cutting taxes at the same time.

I'd rather have our surpluses spent on affordable housing, the environment, and healthcare than having us buy airplane carriers and missiles. But that's just me, and I respect your right to think otherwise.

Besides, need I point out that our debt has been contracted during periods of Conservative and Liberal governments?

NDP would put us more in the hole than the Conservatives by more than ten billion dollars.

The Libs are easier on the bank, but I can't support their crooked as*es anymore.

If Harper is elected I'm going to buy stock in the pie industry.

Wow... just wow.

As much as I'm an NDP supporter, I really think this is going too far, especially with the corruption related issues and the Gomery Inquiry.

And to think how fast the NDP jumped on the Conservative bandwagon whine about the Liberals doing negative campaigning.....

While doing a negative campaign of their own, I might add.

He'll just get rid of all our social programs like public healthcare and public broadcasting... even those two will allow him to cut taxes without affecting Canadian life (because public healthcare is a waste, apparently)

At an all candidates' meeting held at my school (organized by the student council to educate young voters), the Liberal candidate yelled at me and refused to refute a single one of my points and called me "young lady" at least four or five times... All because I stood up during the question period and asked, "Mr. Fontana! Why is it that we should vote for Mr Martin when he evaded Canadian taxes while he was the finance ministre of Canada??". He sputtered, acted outraged, I clarifyied my point a little, and then he went on the ten minute rant in which he said absolutely nothing.
He basically just told me to "get my facts straight" or give him my phone number so he could have someone call me to "help [me] get my facts straight". Yeah right. More like, give me your phone number so I can find out where you live and send someone to break your legs. I didn't give him my number, needless to say, but what I did was send him a link to this article...
Teachers later approached me to tell me that they had decided against voting Liberal that day.
Yay for the NDP. I heart this website.

I'd hate to see Harper with a majority government. His economic policy is ridiculous. Even he knows that.

Personally, while I think the Liberal party is probably the best option at the moment *cringes*, I'm just glad the Conservatives are giving them a run for it. It's called competition, and it does a country good :)
